Despite being someone who doesn't run this game partly because of Nova, I'm still against a Nova filter to increase the number of categories. As stated above you would still only use Warframes with abilities that speed you up and you don't gain much of a variety. Also it doesn't lower the entry barrier at all, because you still need all the mods and gear for your optimized builds to achieve the fastest times and getting these takes a lot more time than farming Nova.
Instead of making an entire filter, I'd rather just add another variable stating the warframe/ -s used in the run. That way you just provide additional information without increasing the number of categories.

NTSC dol 0-00 version is the first and fastest version of this game as several glitches and sequence breaks have been patched in later versions such as the PAL version. Additionally rooms take longer to load in PAL as they changed the way the game loads rooms, because in the original release the game can crash on some loads when playing on a gc, but these crashes do not appear when playing on a Wii.
As the pc version is the most popular version, there hasn't been anyone asking for anything else, but it should be possible for a supermod to add that as a variable.
I'm pretty sure Echoes wii would be placed on the triology boards which has a 19% category with no entry so farhttps://www.speedrun.com/mpt#Echoes_19 . If you want to request a category to be on the leader boards then please do a run of it first. There's no reason to have empty leaderboards.

I haven't looked into the audio to look for a cutoff and I'm not an expert in that kind of stuff, but I rewatched the run and it was clearly done on the same emulator that flower used for their 100% run. That is clearly visible on the inaccuracies that come with the fade off in the end of each level and the intro, as well as a buzzing sound on the last level. I would like to see how accurate that emulator actually is, because it doesn't seem like that and if it isn't, then we can quickly remove both runs without needing to investigate any further on splices.
That's still better than letting anyone be able to submit obvious fake times until they get removed. I don't expect that to happen here, but I've seen that happen on other leaderboards that had no verification.
Did you also look into movement speed ? LosvikeN also did a TAS, got 4:21 iirc and also found out how movement speed works and it's pretty dumb. Basically as you start moving it increases until you get to a certain value, where it iterates between 2 different values, but those values can be different depending on how you move and jump/fall from platforms. So if you aren't paying attention to the values on RAM watch, you can actually lose a lot of time when walking, just because you don't have optimal movement speed.
Don't forget that playing on Wii removes some random crashes like the one when taking the elevator from Tallon Overworld to Chozo Ruins.

I get what you mean and yeah this is quite the problem. 1.0 is the fastest version and I enjoy running 1.0 more than 1.9 and I can understand if you do the opposite. As 1.0 and 1.9 are differ in many ways (not only through glitches, but also through unit balancing ) we can't really compare them, so I guess the best we could do is adding version as a new variable.
