I'm going for sub-6 and have been using the newgrounds version. However I notice on some other sites that some levels are beatable quicker. Like on addictinggames level 17 can be done in 1 throw. I don't know which one dha used but as far as I can tell the newgrounds version behaves the same as his
Wow, I did not realize there different versions for the first Bloons game. We've been using the one on Flashpoint by Infinity. For consistency's sake, perhaps we should stick to that one. Not sure if it's the same version from either Newgrounds or Addictinggames. But it's simple to use and gets rid of the need to navigate through a bunch of outdated websites to find a playable version of many, many games.

Actually I should point out that the flashpoint version is NOT the same as dha's WR run. None of the top 3 runs on the leaderboard are using the newer version that's on flashpoint. The gameplay is different between newgrounds (what I think dha used) and flashpoint. The strategies dha uses don't all work on flashpoint. IMO the newgrouns version is nicer to play
I was misinformed. I know dha uses Flashpoint for some games and just assumed he used it for Bloons as well. Thank you for pointing this out to me!
