4:41 TAS
So when you search on YouTube “super Mario bros tas” the first video is a tas that is 4:41
But the tas we use is 4:44, so why don’t we use the 4:41 TAS?

it uses the AISSON cheat code, the best possible time without cheats on the NTSC version is 4:54.02 (or 4:54.26 without L+R which is not allowed on these boards)
GreatestRoman, that's what I thought too but they said the tas they use is 4:44, which makes me think they were talking about something other than standard any%.
