MongoliaSo what's wrong with making the main leaderboards an any region leaderboard, japanese version runners who want to only compete with other japanese version runners still could, and people who want to compete against everybody can as well.
But now Japan literally can't compete against the rest of us, since you separated the leaderboards, before, if you were a good runner you could claim top 3 pretty easily, now they have no choice to submit to a secondary leaderboard.
What I don't understand is, if you can easily access the chinese version, why would you choose to run the japanese version, you're running an inferior version of the game, you're running a version where there's no good competition, and you're running a version filled with year old times with basically free world records. Some people are actually regressing from the Chinese version to the Japanese, meaning they had no problem playing the Chinese version before.

@FurryWulfz Because it's where the main competition is. And with the boards I'm proposing they can choose to not submit into the main board if they want to, this would just open the door for someone to potentially claim some top spots in the middle of the main copmetition. As I've said even with the handicap, it's still possible to beat my or wusscake's time. Other categories even more so, my nemesis% time could easily be claimed with the japanese version, if someone does beat it, I want that time to beat mine instead of being relegated to a secondary category.

What do you mean they can? They can't, the way it is now chinese runs go into the chinese leaderboard and japanese runs go into the japanese leaderboard.
Well the mods shouldn't have to duplicate everything I guess, but people who choose to compete with the japanese version should be allowed to submit to the main board.
To clarify, japanese runs would exist on both the PC and PC (JPN) tab, assuming that's how they're named
No, put every run, including japanese into the main PC category, and make the JPN category exclusive to japanese only. If I could only play the japanese version, I'd still want to be on the main leaderboards with the handicap. As difficult it may be, it is possible to get WR with the japanese version, and even more so to get a good time like sub 42.
30-40 seconds difference? That's a straight up lie. Maybe between the Chinese and US version.
I'm not against having a japanese leaderboard, I'm against splitting the leaderboard. You can have a japanese only leaderboard all you want, but change the existing Chinese leaderboard into an Any region leaderboard and put all the runs back in, so even if people are unwilling to run the chinese version, they should still be able to compete.
Edit: I'm not complaining because this change affects me directly, but it definitely keeps potential competition away from me.
Console versions have significant enough differences from PC where it warrants seperating the leaderboards, this does not. The difference between is 13 seconds? That's a figure I've heard frequently cited.
Seperating the japanese and chinese versions is the most retarded change ever.

There are more people who have said yes or yes but with a new category than people who've said no.
You know what would entice new runners? Less magnums, that's the point. That's why the top runners don't want it, because they're gatekeeping their game, while most new runners or people who have been running it a couple months want it.
You're missing the point, it's the result from the RNG that's why I think it's okay to alter the grenade launcher RNG. Since it's a guaranteed reset any time you get a magnum, no matter what, I think it's okay to remove it, but other things like safsprin aren't, they're just time losses, they don't force you to reset because the entire route becomes different.
Adjusting drop values for dark souls would be akin to adjusting 4011, safsprin, 104. Grenade launcher RNG isn't comparable.
