Is there any particular reason why you think it's of absolutely critical importance to change things to how you like them without telling ANY other mods, then make threads complaining that things are not how you like them? Is 2 clicks THAT much of a hassle? Is running 4 tracks out of 16 a full-game run? No.

Both of those are fair points I shouldn't have forgotten honestly. I'll pay more attention to runs like this and reject if necessary. Sorry for my laziness :P

A time is valid for something like Retro Tracks out of a 32/48 Track time because you still start and end the timer for that category at the same time. You can only lose time by doing that, not save any.

With the release of 200cc and the second MK8 DLC Pack as of April 23rd, many new additions have been added to the MK8 leaderboard:

• 200cc has been added as a variable for submitting your 200cc runs.
• The "40 Tracks" category (along with "No Items") has been removed.
• "48 Tracks" and "48 Tracks (No Items)" have been added as new categories.
• "DLC Tracks" has been added as a new category.
• "Crossing Cup" and "Bell Cup" have been added as new misc categories.

Also, every time I try to edit the settings for http://www.speedrun.com/mario_kart_wii_ctgp , the changes never save.

That is a fair point about misc categories, but it varies person by person on what should be misc and what shouldn't be kept track of.

Is there a way for game mods to edit what is and is not a required field for a submission? If not then this would be very helpful :P

So here's the general consensus so far: -Remove the 40 Tracks categories and replace them with 48 Tracks -Add 200cc

I'll be adding 200cc as a variable to all categories. I'll also be editing all runs currently on the leaderboard to 150cc (that'll be fun lol).

Also, as a reminder, 48 Tracks, Crossing and Bell Cups, and 200cc runs will not be accepted until the 23rd.

I'm kind of confused based on how this is worded, but if it's something along the lines of displaying information such as "this mod runs these games only, but is also a series moderator," then i'm all for it.

I mostly mod MK8 and MKW, along with series things.

Yes, it could be added to miscellaneous, but adding 50cc this, 50cc that, 100cc this, 100cc that would clutter the board, along with the fact that you mentioned, there isn't a big distinction between featured and tracked. I'm having similar problems with Mario Kart 8, as a few people have requested 200cc categories and some more DLC categories, but miscellaneous is cluttered and there's no more room.

Moderation:

I'm definitely in favor of adding more moderators. You brought up some good points about series moderators that don't run a game but run different ones. That's probably been my biggest annoyance with running the MK series. I'm a series mod, so it's reasonably assumed that I moderate all of the games. However, that is not the case. Abney mods MK64, I mod MK8 and MKW, and Lafungo mods the rest. It does get frustrating at times receiving minor complaints about a game I don't run, but it makes sense that I'm being contacted since I'm a series mod. I doing something like the Super Mario leaderboard does would be a great idea if we brought some new mods on board. [ http://prntscr.com/6s749l , http://prntscr.com/6s74z4 ] I think Goomba would be a nice addition to MKDD since he's provided a lot of input. As for the games I run, I can contact some players that I think could do a good job. I think having at least 2 mods for each game is the best way to go for the sake of allowing more than just one person to have control of an entire game.

I agree with you for the most part Dan, but the biggest problem is seeing if people are okay with their runs for the 40 Tracks category being removed. Any opinions on Dan's post would be highly appreciated.

I don't really think putting 50+ cups in the IL section is a good idea, especially since they aren't individual levels and are cups. As far as a random 32 tracks is concerned, it's not fair or optimal for a speedrun since you have a 1/216 chance of getting a certain track; one person could get the longest tracks while another could get the shortest.

No video proof is fine as long as it isn't a WR/1st place run. That is the only case in which video is required.

It's really tough for me to decide which categories we should add honestly, a lot of people want quite a few different categories. We're filling up in the categories department (if you haven't noticed already) and really can't accept all of these. I think the original plan was to add a second 40 Tracks category and add the 48 tracks category (along with the Crossing Cup and Bell Cup categories). If you guys instead want to scrap 40 tracks and have just 48 Tracks, that's okay too. A DLC Tracks category is a good idea too. But with so much room taken up already by the other categories, I doubt we can fit everything. So what do you think? Should we scrap some categories to make room for new ones? Should we only add some new ones but not others?
