That's why it's called Unlock Everything. You do all of Grand Prix for at least 1 star and unlock all 32 fast staff ghosts. 3 stars shouldn't be the standard and instead a separate "100%" category because it goes toward nothing, you don't unlock anything after 1 star.

mkwrs.com/mkwii already has the entire Time Trial leaderboard as well. And picture proof would still be a bad idea because you could just hack an above average time.
No you need at least a star rank on everything. Even if you don't somehow, you'd have to suck to get an A rank and have being bad at Grand Prix and driving the reason for your persistent concern. All I have left to say about not needing all star ranks or not, go test it yourself and get 99% of all at least 1 star ranks in the game on a new file.

OK, so you need to do 6 cups to unlock Lightning and Special and individually, Lightning and Special get you a vehicle or doing all retro or nitro tracks on Mirror gets you something, I forgot exactly.
I haven't done 100% yet, but I'm good enough at driving for doing well on Grand Prix.
Low focus was purposeful, I found I could turn it really low and thought it looked funny.
That would be a bad idea for requiring two stars, 1 star is just Unlock Everything like me and Pat already did and 3 stars is 100%, but we don't need to split all 3.
OK, so 6/8 cups unlock something. Flower and Banana at least go to unlocking the other 4 and those 4 individually, get you something and then Rosalina can be gotten for starring all of the cups. Also, if you only do 7/8 cups you won't get the credits needed for finishing. Btw why do you keep saying 1 at the beginning of all your posts?
I'll be doing runs when I get around to it and I'll be on English to know what I'm reading. If I think I've got good enough muscle memory and watched enough runs to know what basic things are, I'll get a JP copy, but only if it saves significant enough time.
LiveSplit is a great and easy to use split timer, I'd recommend that.
