Hey! I'm not a speedrunner myself, but I learned how to do the soggy cave skip on here, and I used it a lot to grind for loot on that map in Apocalypse mode.
I'm not exactly sure what happened, but at some point, my friends and I all realized that our arrows weren't running out... and then someone tried using fireworks, and since it had "1" ammo in the artifact, it wasn't decreasing either, so we had infinite fireworks. We eventually got to the point of experimenting with different soul artifacts, since the souls didn't deplete either.
We were able to abuse this glitch for a few maps, maybe 6 or 7 levels in Apocalypse, until we all got disconnected. Not sure if it's an optimal thing to try to implement and properly discover this for an any% run, but I can definitely say I experienced a pretty ridiculous glitch.
Sorry, I should say I haven't tried to recreate this, though. All I remember was doing the soggy cave glitch in the corner with the keyboard/mouse/controller trick at least five times before this happened. Not sure how else it could have happened, and I also wasn't able to record it :(
As it's just hearsay, it sounds really cool; if you ever find out how to do it vanilla do be sure to let us know. Infinite arrows would open up a lot of possibilities.
My only guess would be that your friends may have been using a cheat program to make it happen, but if not it's a great prospect.
