Harry Potter Battle For Hogwarts

Harry Potter Battle For Hogwarts is a flash game. You can play it on the website https://kbhgames.com/game/harry-potter-battle-for-hogwarts but some browsers don't support flash anymore.

This packagde contains flash game file hpbfh.swf, language XML file hpbfh.xml and this README file. This README is written in Markdown.

Playing the game

Download standalone Flash Player from the flash site and search for the Flash Player projector and download it. Put all files into one directory for ease of use.

To play the game you have to load the XML file with the language data. Without it you will get Error retrieving "languageurl" from flashVars error. To do that open Windows terminal (cmd, Powershell or new Windows Terminal) and go to the directory with the game file, XML file and Flash Player.

Run the Flash Player executable and pass game file as argument with additional argument to the language file as in examples below (where the flashplayer_32_sa.exe is the downloaded Flash Player projector executable).

Windows Terminal or Powershell: .\flashplayer_32_sa.exe hpbfh.swf?languageurl=hpbfh.xml

cmd: flashplayer_32_sa.exe hpbfh.swf?languageurl=hpbfh.xml

Creating a shorcut

If you don't want to open the terminal every time; you can create a shortcut to Flash Player and make it run the game.

Right-click the Flash executable and click Create Shortcut option. Then right-click the shortcut and go to Preferences. Edit the Target field so it will have the Flash executable, then game file with xml file as argument. Example below.

C:\Games\HPBFH\flashplayer_32_sa.exe "hpbfh.swf?languageurl=hpbfh.xml"

Make sure that the Start in field is the path to the directory where all of the files are.
