hello and welcome to speedrunning Killzone 2

first off lets start with what you can do to beat Killzone 2 as fast as possible on Recruit difficulty.

  1. run past Helghasts: for the most part you can easily run past enemies you encounter, depending you picked Recruit difficulty since you take less damage & enemies have lesser armor, you can simply reach to the next checkpoints where usually there cover to hide from shots behind.

  2. Knife/melee is the strongest weapon: never bring an assault rifle, shotgun, sub machine gun or light machine gun to a knife fight in Killzone 2 logic. provided you fight regular infantry Helghast they take on average 2 hits and they are out. of course you have to be careful and quick in taking enemies 1 one 1 or if grouped together take as many as 3 at once before getting shot to death.

  3. use grenades to disperse Helghast to make a clear way: Helghast are not dumb AI who are going to hang still when you throw a grenade at them. instead they will most times run away from the grenade which you can exploit to clear a way. sometimes you can't run past Helghast when they are many and close to each other while obstructing your path to objective.

  4. skip mini boss fights: you can skip a few boss fights especially the 1st time you encounter heavy Helghast.

  5. fight with Radec: Radec can be frustrating to fight in the last area after you have cleared off of Helghasts. what Radec does is teleports in between fights and they are fixed. this can be daunting when you don't know where radec might come from behind. instead simply go to any of the corners and put your back to the wall being safe from flanking. Radec will just teleport to your sides instead of your back. also use your knife does lot damage and saves you from reloading when Radec attacks but its risky since Rade's knife attacks are also deadly.
