Wow, huh. You can also dump passenger. I don't know what that gets you, but it puts you in a weird state where all the missions are on the map but you can't accept them and if you die, you go back to the start of the map. You can then select "retry ride" to get back to whatever mission you were on. The only thing I can think of is that this puts you somewhat close to a mechanic in the city, but that would be more out of the way than the ones that are used already. I personally wouldn't think that this is anything at all skeezy. It's part of the game, and effectively it's just a slightly different/faster way of doing a deathwarp. So, it's not really different enough to break it out into a separate category. If you don't want to do runs with it, that's fine, but I'm not going to ban it based on what I've seen so far. |

This is fine by me. Also, if you find a way to make swatch internet time faster, I'll 200% allow that also. |

Hey. I added individual levels to the leaderboard. Please submit these. Thanks. |

What is the problem with that being on the site? |

One video per mission, so that you can submit each of them individually to the leaderboard. |

That is a very well executed run. Nice. Runs are submitted by going to the individual level pages, like this one: http://www.speedrun.com/mgspw/Opening_Investigate_the_Supply_Facility and clicking on the "Submit Run" button. I look forward to seeing all your times on the leaderboard. |

You might even be able to make a case for no detentions as a category, but the main issue with the category as you have it is that it's seemingly an arbitrary collection of modifiers. It's glitchless, but also hard difficulty and perfect stealth. Each one of those alone merits consideration. But together, it doesn't make any sense. What makes that particular combination better than the other 110 ways you could stack modifiers to make a new category? |

One thing that I think people might find useful is to put a blurb on the landing page for a game, and to otherwise customize that page beyond the default category. However, just having a place to put a link to a segmented run offsite isn't great. Ideally, they should be a part of the database, so that they can be associated with runners and all other nice things that come with being a run. Just having a flat link to the most recent TAS, whether as a guide or a resource just seems like a waste. |

Looks like someone pushed a merge conflict to production, and also all the pages have the "hidden js" class on their html tags, rendering all pages blank. These two issues might be related. |

You don't need to go over the wall to get to the generator. Go along the electrocuted path both ways. For the subsequent door, you can use the code 0451. |

Looking at a series page in a narrow view requires me to scroll through the list of all developers, publishers and series in order to get to the page content. Shouldn't that filter option be behind a collapsible menu? |

I feel like a better set of categories would be Any% | No Alerts | No F1/F5 | No Alerts, No F1/F5 And an IL table with the same categories (with the additional clarification that no f5 means default starting location), with one entry for each job (everything that the game gives you a time for). I feel like the "No F1/F5/F6" category should just be "no F1/F5" as F6 doesn't really do anything broken. I could also see someone doing no F1 alone, but since there isn't anybody doing either, it seems silly to prematurely clog up the leaderboard with empty categories. |

You have to walk into pierre's, buy the bag, walk out, which is at least 5 seconds, and then walk to robin's after that, which is another 20. If you think it'll save that much time on menuing, go for it. |

What do you need the backpack upgrade for? 12 stacks of stone fits in the default pack. |

That's such a specific thing, I'd rather wait until there's a run of a category like that before adding it. If and when you submit it, the category can be added. |

Yeah, a lot of momentum was behind how they are presently arranged at the time of game launch, and I'm glad that's starting to turn around. Right, I forgot about variables. That seems the best solution. I've actually switched it over now, since if there's any objections, I can switch it right back. The thing with making it be present patch/older patches is do we remove all the runs from the present patch category every time there's a patch? Or, do we only switch them when we determine that it affects the run? |

I'm really not sure what's causing the timer inconsistencies. As for adding mods, I'm in favour of making you, and anyone else who has the time and inclination to help, a mod, though that determination is up to the super mods. For switching the IL tables, I'd rather see the misc/main categories swapped around, since we already have all these runs that are optimized for no raiden. Although, that's a bit of a labour intensive thing, since the site doesn't let you apply the same run to multiple categories, so we'd have to copy them all manually, which isn't the end of the world, but if people want to do raiden runs, then they're going to be obsoleted soon anyways. So, we could just make the existing misc categoriers primary without migrating everything. In that case, I'd wait until there are at least a few runs in those categories before migrating them over. For the full game patch split, should it be "every version after this date" and "every version before this date" or "present versions" and "older versions" which gets updated with every patch? I'll try to get all of this category stuff sorted tomorrow when I'm free. I'd just really like input on the raiden thing because those changes might be difficult to revert. I'm sorry I haven't been active as of late, and I hope I can make the leaderboard suit everyone's needs. |

Everyone is allowed to run the game in the manner they see fit. The leaderboard support both kinds of run. Please don't feel as though the default timing method on speedrun.com is a prescription of what you should do. The determination as to which kind of run is "best" is not for the moderators to make. We're just trying to reflect what people have been doing with the game. The default timing method is not a judgment on anyone. |
Forum: Firewatch Thread: Dialogue route for any% Started by: your_name_hereyour_name_here |
Timed this out myself http://pastebin.com/raw/RVYbUiPG Some clarifications: I've omitted most choices with one option. With the exception of the one at the end of day 77 night, it's always faster to take them, so I just left them out for conciseness. Get Flapjack joke means to respond to the joke. If you just hear it, or just pick the first option and not follow up, it makes the day 64 dialogue longer, to the point where big fire is faster. If Delilah knows anything about Julia, it makes days 64 and 79 longer, so you should never tell her. At the start of day 77 night, you need to respond to Delilah so that you don't have to wait when you get the backpack. This isn't in the route because it's not actually any particular decision you need to make. |
