DISCLAIMER: This route is severely outdated, however @sugarshrek and I decided to preserve it. Please use his route instead.

Credit goes to Osey889 for making these notes :) NOTE: Faux Kappa's a Yo-kai, but in these notes it's refered to as Faux Kappa <- the emote on twitch.

Chapter 1 Catch any 3 bugs, one bug must be a brown cicada. Take Tattletale.

Key quests- school yard, Everymart(need one plum rice ball for hungramps)

Chapter 2 Key Quests - chapter 2 - Go to Gourd Pond Museum, Community center,(stop at everymart, sell Belt for $25, buy candy for ake recruit) Fusion at the temple Must have Ake for fusion. Grab Baddinyan during night trip for screwdriver. Party formation front row(from left to right - Jibanyan,Baddinyan,Tattletale Back row - Swelton, Brushido,Baku. Give Baddinyan +50 str bell. check for his additude, use Rough book if needed. Community center quest note - use auto-team attack for faster menuing

Chapter 3 On the way to getting doughnuts for grandma, go do Rank C quest at Timers & More. Stop at bookstore to buy 1 logical book and 1 gentle book. These books are for incase Miradox isn't logical or brainy, and if tattletale changes to twisted when she evolves. Key Quests - Hide and seek, Soulcery need bamboo shoot (buy during grandma escort), Phidphant hunting grab first

Chapter 4 Key Quests - Ironworks first (grab chest with silver doll), use eyepo to switch in for Miradox over swelton, head north for Komajiro quest, head southeast to timers & more quest. Head south to shopper's row to grab letter from komasan, head back to train station. New Formation, Baddinyan,Tattletale,Miradox, Back Row - Jibanyan,Brushido,Baku, If miradox isn't Brainy or Logical, make note of it. Go pick up quest item from curry store, head east to shoppers row and activate Mirapo there and warp to turn in both key quests.

Chapter 5 Key Quests - Warp to Mt.Middleton first for first quest, then head south and left for Faux Kappa fight. Go back to Middleton and warp to grandmas house. Switch out Baku for Faux Kappa. Get Gnomey quest done. Head outside and go for the school quest hide and seek. after that head to soulcery shrine talk to old man for quest info for predictabull, then use mirapo there to warp to Downtown. Either ride train or run to the Excellent Tower for quest. At top of Tower sell every useless item to everymart. Warp to shoppers row. Buy as many Everything Ramen's as you can(10 is a good amount). Ride Train to San Fantastico, go into bottom left alleyway past the Rank C barrier and recruit Flushback, Wiglin, Steppa, and Rhyth. Flushback has higher priority here, but try to recruit the other three when you can using Ramen's. Once you have Flushback but still lack any of the other three, move onto Seaside cave where those three are an easier encounter. Beat boss and return to past prepare for Kin & Gin fight.

(up to this point bosses needed no real strat to beat) Kin & Gin require you to kill both at the same time. if you fail to do so they will revive the other to 75% HP at first, then to less then 50%. I recommend using Miradox, and Jibanyan's Soultimates for the early part of the fight, but save Baddinyan's for the double KO, as he hits the hardest. Stay calm and pay attention to the turn order. Baddinyan and Miradox hit hard, so try and help control the damage output by just precharging baddinyans SU, just to stop him from attacking. (also if you want to make sure of the kill range, use Moxie for baddinyan and forgo using jibanyan's SU)

Chapter 6 Key Quests - TALK TO WHISPER!(so easy to forget) Talk to mom for quest, go to the west river for jibanyan quest. Go to Sunshine station in blossum hights for quest info. Head back to Head to timers & more for Rank B quest and then warp to Excellent Tower, head south to the station for quest info, head back and warp to central station. Ride NonStop Train to and back from Fortune Place Station to talk to station worker for quest info. (must be daytime to talk to dad at work) Speak to dad at work, go to bike shop, back to dad at work. Now use your new bike to ride to timers & more, warp and go take out Rank B targets, 1 in alley way for flushback, and 2 in the Seaside Cave.

Cyclops boss is easy, no real strats needed. just go all out.

Chapter 7 Key Quests - Start of chapter go do Rank A quest in the hospital. Careful as the yokai there are strong. (especally the RPGJERKBIRD) Head to the past and do all the story stuff, pretty simple and no need for route details. After you fight Ray o Light and head to shoppers row, visit the Meat vendor and stock up on good healing meat. money is no longer a concern. The Key quests are also in order, just keep going for the entire chapter. Unfairy is tough but doable, play smart.

Chapter 8 Follow the story till your back in the present. Head home, talk to parents, and start heading north the community center. (if party level is less then 30, fight enemies in springdale till above 30. fights here are 600-800 exp a fight) Warp to old springdale and take out the targets in the area to progress story. Follow story prombts till the next major boss fights.

Dame Deadtime has the gimmick of steal a party members level and stats, creating a wicked yokai double on her field to attack you or heal her depending on who she steals. The created wicked yokai is whatever the levels were stolen. If your yokai has their stats stolen they are almost useless, rotate the party as needed and save soultamates to hit Deadtime and her Wicked yokai spawns. 2 SU attacks will kill most wicked yokai. About under 50% hp she triggers a cut scene where you must...

Head Down and be amazed as you now control your grandpa and his team! i'll go over that team in quick detail. Hovernyan is a strong phsical attacker whose soultimate is a single target Heavy physical attack. Pallysol is a spirit focused yokai wind element, and has a fairly powerful multitarget SU. Mermaidyn is pretty much the same as Pallysol only uses water element but her power behind her SU isn't as strong. Predictable is a healer and almost no DPS. Faux Kappa is the same as the one you use only much higher level. Gnomey is a healer, really lack luster dps. while Hovernyan at the start of the fight is low on HP, this fight is pretty much the same Kin and Gin boss, but this time the team you have is really overleveled. you would need to put the game down and do nothing to lose. Save Pallysol's SU to kill them both at the same time using prevous strats.

Back to Dame Deadtime who fights exactly as before, same strategy.

FINAL BOSS There is three targets, Her head, and two dragon like tentacles from the left and right shoulder. Left Dragon represents Physical and the Right Spirit. This boss will steal specific stats instead of all of them, she will either sap your strentgh of a yokai, the spirit, or thier capacity. From personal testing having a yokai's capacity stolen is the best to happen to you, as i find it does very little to your team, but if Strength or Spirit is stolen your yokai will start doing as little as 1 damage. if that happens take out the apporate Dragon head to have it returned. they don't stay dead long but she would need to resteal all your stats again. Aside from stats she can steal your ability to use either your items or purify in battle. react approately. She has a few multihit attacks that are pretty easy to heal from. however she has this move where she summons several blue wisps that float around her head. You can pop this wisps with the targeting. Its super important to turn off fast forward while doing this to give you more time to pop them, as each hits for 70hp. She can also steal your SU energy and use it to activate her own. Worse yet is if you try and use your SU she can still it mid charging, requardless of turn order, and cast hers instead! There is a timing you can use to still use SU during the fight but i am still testing those out. for now i recommend just not using them. Her SU attack can almost 1 shot your entire front row if not at full HP. Lastly she can hit your entire front row with a inspirit where you yokai could refuse to act.

With all that said, the best strat is to target her head and only deal with the dragon heads if your losing massive dps. Pay attention to your teams HP, and pop those blue wisps ASAP! She doesn't have a "second phase" but when she is getting low the number of Blue Wisps increase, but if your not in fast forward you should be able to pop most if not all of them. there is some case of bad luck where you can just get screwed, due to items being locked at the wrong time. If you pop all the Blue Wisps and then use a SU, she will not steal it.

gg

Team Equipment - Jibanyan - Tough Bell early, later Memory Bell. Baddinyan - Beefy Bell. Miradox - Fairy Ring early, later Ring of Fate. Tattletale - Protective Charm early, Later Earth Charm. Faux Kappa - Big Bottle(if you have it, otherwise ignore). Washido - Rocker Wrist.

Tips - Try and use any staminiums while your already in a menu. The effect of them last beyond cutscenes now are worth it in that way. Check your yokai's Additudes! They are now random in this game as to what they start with. Most food from the battles are enough to help you beat the game, but the left over candy and ramen from shopping help out. Hitting A on a train skips the train stopping cutscene, you can trigger this pretty early so mash A when it fades to black.
