Forum: The Site Thread: Reporting runner? Started by: |
https://www.speedrun.com/Power_Blade/thread/2q61u I was told by a content mod to just make a thread and reach out in the forums. I would like to assume this behavior presented by the creator of said thread is not acceptable. I don't know if there's such a thing as a warning system in place, but this is not something I deem fine. |
Forum: Power Blade Thread: Why dont use clips in Glichless? Started by: timmyshotguntimmyshotgun |
This is absurd, you argue for a definition categorization of what a clip belongs to. It doesn't excuse the fact that you misread the rules and submitted a 19:36 with a sector 4 clip timmy. Just submit a new time and read the rules closer next time. |

dunno what's up with SRC in showing twitch affiliate symbols next to my username. Because now I have guns pointed at my face rather than my actual twitch sub-badges. Nothing seeminly wrong when I check my twitch affiliate profile, quite peculiar |

Forum: Gradius: The Interstellar Assault Thread: Level difficulty Started by: LeeBoonLeeBoon |
Ya I can agree from just learning the first game this week and watching the current runs for this that there def should be category separations based on difficulty. Most noticeably right now, 2/3 runners are running easy whilst the other one runs normal. We already have separation for the first game anyway so it would be nice to have consistency for the handheld series. |

@LivLiv I haven't attemtped to reach out to his youtube account, that's certainly an unorthodoxed method compared to any other mod I've reached out to in the past 2 years. I can give it a try... I just learned and beat the game today, going to submit run tomorrow. The reason firstly is because I dont know if he's even aware that the previous mod bailed and made him a mod. |

I'd like to request mod for https://www.speedrun.com/gradiusnemesis The prev mod bailed and gave it to a previous runner and dont have any kind of social media on his profile. The only way to contact him is through his youtube. |

Well the categories got made, and you're mod now too seemingly @LeeBoonLeeBoon |
Forum: Rygar (NES) Thread: Wrong Warp? Started by: JaagJaag |
looks like a clip rather than a WW, though I guess the idea behind no WW is basically glitchless, so this prob would get banned either way. I only ran any% though so im not really sure how that category looks like. |

I mean ofc its not a problem allowing for deathwarp being used in any%. The larger question down the road is whether or not to have a warpless category for the other runners in the past so that not everyone steamrolls them over. My two cents. |
Forum: Castlevania: Lament of Innocence Thread: New category idea, all bosses Started by: VixolVixol |
All Bosses makes more sense than 100% for this game in my eyes, I think its a fun addition. |
Forum: Devil May Cry Thread: All Notes Category Started by: |
No. Going for the "I Read You Like A Book" achievement for a speedrun makes zero sense. It involves having to collect enemy AI data across multiple game difficulties. I cant ever see this becoming a thing. |

I'm personally a fan of negative timers since i find them alot more precise, I followed joka's example whom was here 6months before me. |

freeland is making a hen out of a feather. emu and console is accurate enough to compete with each other, its not a problem at all unless you are used to console. If you are like me, just playing on emulator all day long, you won't know the difference. When it comes to controllers, it is hard to find something good these days, even for the ones people recommend, its typically hit or miss from my experience. Edit: you have people like prisi for instance whom is a great runner. He did emu runs for years and competed for the top on many games, he recently switched to console because of the input delay emu has and he is doing "better" on console. That being said, you can still achieve great times through emulation rather than investing in full-on console setup from day 1 - only to give up speedrunning within 6 months due to lack of time or interest. I'd say dont worry about it until you feel its time to make the switch. |
Forum: Castlevania II: Simon's Quest Thread: New to speedrunning, wanna start with CV2 Started by: BloodSweatAndCodeBloodSweatAndCode |
1 - I'd say the current tutorial out that I made is prob the most informed compilation out atm, granted you can always join the CV discord and ask runners directly in the cv2 channel. 2 - emu is okay, typically FCEUX is wildy accepted and used by alot of people for NES games. I'd def submit a run if you get it down to a point where you feel proud of it, typically I'd say if you can beat the time at last place, that qualifies for acceptance. 3 - We use Livesplit most commonly as a timer, you can find a link to the software under "More-Resources" on top page of SRC. discord https://discord.gg/HsnhrXP Hope that helps a bit |
