In the PC version, you can butt bounce on spectral portals and on certain boxes, while in any other version you can't. Most skips are still possible on GameCube despite that, though.

If you want to learn the game, I'd suggest watching the WR vid and asking questions in the Pac-Man Discord server ( I can answer any questions you might have and explain all the tricks.

This same type of clip can be used near the final orb for NG+.

if you zip into a wall with the right speed and distance away from it, you'll clip into the wall enough to get your double jump back

Timing starts upon gaining control of Link because an IL doesn't necessarily have to start upon loading a file (for example, you could take damage before entering a dungeon, whereas loading a file would reset that).
