Wii play game speed

Hello everyone,

Wii play tanks is an awesome game, and I'm playing it for a really long time. Some days ago, I found out that there is a speedrun for this game, and I was like "owwww, that's sooooo great" :)

By looking at the speedrun videos (actually the solo 5), I was excited to see such times (1m07 for the best for now), because it is challenging to me to beat them. After a lot of tries, I'm only doing ~1m45. It's still a good time, but, I can't see how to beat myself, and wonreded how these guys could do it.

And then, I checked with some video editing tool and saw that there was a (huge) difference in game speed : I checked from the end of a level to the beginning of the next one, and there is a difference of ~20%. (3.75s for my video, 3.05 for the #1 solo 5)

I don't want to tell that other people are cheating, I just want to understand how is possible ? Is there some hardware differences (the wii is a french one), in the game (also bought in france), or anywhere else ?

Thanks for your answers :)

Well, it depends of the screen ratio, there is a huge difference between 16:9 and 4:3, the 16:9 ratio is kinda slower compared to 4:3 ratio. I think that's the reason

Yea 16:9 and 4:3 have a big difference i noticed. My best was around a 1:09 on 16:9 ratio and i didn't think i would ever beat it. Then I noticed all the top runners were using 4:3, so I switched over and almost immediately got a 1:07.

Probably didn't need to respond to this thread since it's literally 3 years old, but whatever lol

The OP's issue is using 50Hz anyway
