Video proof is required for all runs. Photos can easily be edited/shopped, so they aren't accepted as proof.
You don't need a capture card to record gameplay if you don't want to get one, (Even though a lot like the GV USB 2 are pretty cheap) you can simply record your TV screen with your phone/camera and upload it to YT, then submit it. Getting video proof is not as much of a hassle as you might think.
There's no runs on the board that don't have video proof, and there have been runs rejected because they don't have proof. If you guys want to accept certain methods of proof like photos, or have video proof cut offs for certain categories, then I'm all for it, but no rules as such are specified and need to be discussed.

I won't necessarily object to changing the rules though.
Some of the minigame runs have rules that say that you can take a picture because the IGT is saved and displayed in the rankings screen (if it’s fast enough). If the minigame of your choice doesn’t have that picture rule, you should stick to recording a video. I may adjust the recording rules if time permits.
P.S. You are also totally allowed to record with a phone. Just make sure the whole screen can be seen and is totally recorded start to finish.
UPDATE: added recording rule to all minigame categories. The only minigames you can take a picture in are Cosmic Capers and Spring Time.
I'd be fine with needing video proof for RTA categories and picture proof for IGT, I feel like all categories should have ruling on what proof is needed. Clarifying rules like this shouldn't really be something we stall on. If you guys want to discuss further on this we have a discord channel specifically for discussions like this.
