Developers ruin speedrunning

Developers just made a patch which changed patterns as they did in first game. From now it seems not to mean very much, but if they keep doing this speedrunning would be impossible. I don't ask for anything- just a theme to discuss.

I understand wanting to fix bugs, but it seems they're adding new things unnecessarily. Like, the grab range on the glass, if it wasn't that long in the first place, we wouldn't have a problem, but since it was already in the game, it means we have runs on older patch that will be faster than newer patch, and there's no real reason to fix it from a casual player's perspective. Maybe it ruins the immersion is that they thought? Who knows

I completely understand adding more solutions for puzzles since it objectively makes the game better from any viewpoint other than a speedrunner's. Unfortunately 10-20 speedrunners don't really have a voice in a market of hundreds or thousands of customers, so I get where they're coming from. I agree though that the glass grab range change is completely unnecessary, possibly even only highlighted by speedruns of the game.

I mean, even if they are ruing the speedrun of their games, there are a lot of games out there that are ran on older patches as well. In the end, they are just making it so their games are among those.
