I thought hardcore run were ment to be Glitchless, deco/reco, etc... Typing commands to locate frost cave is like cheating to me... Why do you allow it on the moder run. I accepted the fact that i forgot a mod on a previous run that was showing coordinate on the map. Witch i didn't even know about. But now you allow a player ton intentionnally type commands to locate the points of interest... OMG. This is not the way i see hardcore!!!

Hi. Chat commands are expressly allowed in writing in the Game Rules. Mods are expressly forbidden in writing in the Game Rules. Those rules were around long before I was and I have no ownership over the Game Rules. The reason "printseeds" just started getting used is because it was just recently discovered.

I understand your point of view regarding hardcore, which I do have some control over. However, if we were to change the rules now to forbid chat commands in hardcore I also do not think it would be fair to retroactively invalidate runs that had been accepted under the previous rules.

There's no way we could accept modded runs, perhaps especially if it's unknown what mods are running, as they can fundamentally alter the entire game.

I do think that we should soon re-examine the hardcore rules for the future, perhaps when Mistlands comes out, which will hopefully be soon and bring with it a new branch on all the Valheim speedrun leaderboards.

I am 100% agree about mods. It was just an example to say that this command id over powered for a hardcore category. I am out of that. Me and the french twitch communauty are totaly against any type on commands that give you information about point of interest. We were do impressed about your skills. Both af you. But now we know you are using commands to help.... Well i don't know the proper word to use, But it is similar to cheater. So disapointed

Print seeds is not a game breaking feature. It saves 5 minutes at most in the hardcore runs. The caves and burial chambers are very distinctly visible from a distance, and print seeds only works when they are within visible range.

The hardcore rules are getting looked at this week but none of the runs should be invalidated as it really is not a game breaking feature. I agree its unnecessary and hardcore runs can be done without it and totally ok to push for that in future, but please be sensible and don't throw the word cheater around.
