tho i probably wont ever play with an controller since i dont know any good keybinders

so i want to play with an controller (my PS4) on my laptop but the X button does the same input as an spacebar which doesnt jump, so if i use an keybinder to allow the X button to jump, would that be cheating since i use an keybinder?
