This... has just reached my radar-

I don't mean to beat a dead horse. But I'd like to address some points you've made. @Goglol

It's terrible to imagine how weak I will be the first near attempts

I don't believe I know any person to have put others down for being weak in areas, especially new players. If you have experienced harassment or otherwise, please do inform us, so we can do something about it.

I get it. It may feel like a large setback because of the progress you may have made. But, if you do continue speedrunning with a swap between autoclicker and just the locomotion of your hand, you could claim you've made PBs and other achievements without such additional help.

I didn't use the macro with the intentions of gaining some advantage over other runners

In the event you did not knowingly or willingly use an outside tool, take this point now as a slap on the wrist. In the event you did knowingly or willingly use an outside tool, take this point now as a slap on the wrist.

We cannot do our moderation based on post-action remarks, unless we make an egregious error. We make you responsible for ensuring your runs follow all rules and guidelines. We, the moderation team, are responsible for verifying that your submissions are compliant. Whether or not you have gained an advantage from something non-compliant is more so an added bonus to consider, but ultimately, if you use something you are not permitted to use, we must take action. Please see this as a generous warning we give only once.

how much time could it save in total?.. two, three seconds? Sure, it's speedrunning, and in the top 3 positions, fights are just the same for seconds... but ultimately it's the skill decides everything, isn't it? Some macros aren't gonna help me if someone is just better than me

This is very inconsiderate of you to say. This is a comparison between you and the top leaderboard. But what about the players who may be below your posting? Can it bear right in your mind telling someone you've bested, "I've bested your time by this much, because of skill and an autoclicker," regardless of if this time difference is negligible?

Everyone else has earned their time, by the precise timing of their own hands. Forget about placement and overall benefit, for a moment. It is not with complete merit one can label onto someone's run, if any portion of their inputs are done by a tool rather than by complete control.

This is obviously about me personally for sure…

I don't know the specifics of your case. But if you've had your run rejected for this reason, I'd like to make it abundantly clear; no, you are not the only person to have been caught with an autoclicker.

Hope this helps clarify things for you. Please understand that if you believe the circumstances are overwhelming enough to warrant discussion, then I urge you to go to the community for it. Moving forward, please do not attempt to put your speedrunning account on the line for a point like this.

===Notes by Moderator=== Run retimed based off the following calculations. 0.22 Subtract start @ 0:22

0.29 Time transition

1:58.17 @ 2:20 Run End

Time without loads 117.66 s = 1:57.66 ~ 1:57.7 Time with loads 117.95 s = 1:57.95 ~ 1:58.0

Two votes to be held, concerning the future of SCP Containment Breach speedrunning.

Firstly, we've noted the requests to make extended categories a thing. As staff team, we're okay with making these additions, so long as we have understanding of the groups consensus. One example of an extended category has been named "Intended%", where runners take level 3 from 914 and complete the rest of the game glitchless. We'll be hosting one vote that will address the extended categories and Intended%, consequentially. https://www.strawpoll.me/42741017

Secondly, the staff has been discussing matters regarding the discrepency between the Out of Bounds (OOB) and Glitchless. To clarify, we will be enforcing runs on srdc based on the use of Save Load Height Abuse (slha) to escape the gemoetry of the game. Slha has been a petty bug to enforce, for the longest time; I've been enforcing OOB differently than with Forx. With this clarification made, we will standardize how OOB is enforced.

That said, concerns of slha being the major factor in changing the path of runs has been raised (MaybeMostlyMeButYouCan'tProveAnything). The reason OOB and w/o OOB exists is to eliminate the heavy advantage slha causes. What we are currently stopping may not be effective enough to preserve the integrity of classic running. Of course, we have our controversy. This is why the second vote is being held.

To clarify on my idea on Glitchless and Glitched, runs that include exploits; such as 914 loading or Boost starting are not glitches of the game. They are mechanics that are used unintendedly, and without any glitches behind them. What Glitchless will ban is the use of slha, as it is an exploit being used to glitch through the geometry of the room, wall or door. Same goes for wrong warp. Hopefully this makes things more clear. https://www.strawpoll.me/42741019

Now, because we've noted the delays between ideas being brought to the table by our runners, and talking these things over, we've decided to correct that by adding two more channels to our discord. The first one is called; "suggestions". Ideas are put up, with seriousness behind it, please. Votes could be made via discord, and we can make legislation by talks and vote-making over a period of time. No discussions are allowed to be made in that channel. Do so via the appropriate game channel. This will be heavily enforced. The second will be called; "hey-I've-sumbmitted-my-run-review-it-already". This will be a good medium to telling us to watch it over. Simply find the verifiers, mods, and supermods, responsible for reviewing them and give us a ping. Please give the run initial time before submission. Using this 5 seconds after submitting the run will be an easy way to get you banned from that channel.

What this means for voting in Forums is we're going to be taking a step back from using this as the medium to find consensus. While we'd like to make sure we are inclusive, everywhere, we make actions based on where our majority of the community. That would happen to be at the discord. That said, we won't have a problem addressing new forum posts requesting change.

As always, find our discord here https://discord.gg/bKeJkZ6

That'll be it for now. We hope these changes can help make discussions more reliable.

Two new categories have been added to SCP Containment Breach's srdc. Unlike the other categories, these detour away from all the "seriousness", while still giving users more ways to find WRs. They are the following:

[Death%] Die as quick as possible in the game. Who cares about the MTF or getting a keycard? Just die. Simple.

[ButtGhost%] Find the legend that will eat your butt when you fall into the toilet.

Each of these categories have their own rulesets. Be sure to read what they are before starting your runs. You can find them sorted under the Misc dropdown category. Hopefully this should keep you guys entertained and busy. Many thanks to @Forx for making us another livesplitter.

That's all for now. As always, you are free to discuss any of the additions, either in the forums or in the discord.

You may not find me to be familiar around here. I am a Super Mod for the SCP Containment Breach game. You may be aware of the merging of our games within the same discord, which was a while back. This is how I keep in touch with the moderators of this game.

As some of you may have heard, @Seydie has stepped down from the SCP speedrunning community. She is the original founder of both games (in srdc), and she has contributed to making both the leaderboards and discord active for several years. She has recently departed us to pursue her job in being a Content Moderator for the speedrunning site.

We have given her our sincere thanks and much love for the effort she has put to make this happen. After a few talks, we've decided to pass discord ownership to your Super Mod @Lagloyavich. Moving forward, we expect to continue reviewing speedruns, and take care of moderation, so you can enjoy submitting each of your runs.

Moreover, we've noted that while she no longer plays a focused role in staffing for the SCP games, @Seydie is more than welcome to stick around in our community. She has been given a role that hints all discord members of her special contribution, and has been encouraged to keep in touch with us. Ifyou'reeadingthisSeydie,I<3you,plsdon'tleaveme!

That's all for now. If it hadn't been said here, I'll say it now; you are free to discuss any of the changes, either in the forums or in the discord.

Three Things!

You may have noted some rules are now missing, but that is not the case. With the implementation of the more recent "Game Rules" tab, we've taken the time to yank the most commonly used rules and place them there. They are still in effect, and are as follows:

  • Timer starts once the screen goes black after loading is complete. The intro sequence must be skipped.
  • The console can not be utilized at all.
  • All runs should be done on a vanilla copy of the game. No resource modifications are allowed.
  • The 4GB patch is allowed

Be sure to, additionally, note the added rules for each category. They are just as important as the rules listed in the "Game Rules" tab, and failure to abide by them could cause a slap straight into the Any% for that hard worked Random% run or, worse, rejection.

That being said, we have another thing to discuss. With a bit of time to develop our thoughts, we've concluded how the out of bounds glitch will play a role in the game. The will only be permitted in the following three categories:

  • Any%
  • Legacy Any%
  • Legacy Random%

While we generally try to stay hands-off with rules and regulations, we find the only appropriate use of the out of bounds glitch is for Any% runs, where you may use a known exploit to get the fastest time possible. This is to promote a fair and fun speedrunning environment. Additionally, there will be no subcategories for this, as we feel this exploit is too game-breaking to make much of a notable time difference between each endings. Many thanks thanks to @Forx and @Seydie for the help in the decision-making.

Speaking of @Seydie, our last point has yet to be discussed. As some of you may have heard, she has stepped down from the SCP speedrunning community. She is the original founder of the community and has contributed with making both the leaderboard and discord active for several years. She will be departing us to pursue her job in being a Content Moderator for the speedrunning site.

We give her our sincere thanks and much love for the effort she has put in making this happen. After a few talks, we've decided to pass discord ownership to @Lagloyavich. Moving forward, we will continue to review speedruns and take care of moderation, so you can enjoy submitting each of your Containment Breach runs.

That's all for now. As always, you are free to discuss any of the changes, either in the forums or in the discord.

Due to the frequent use of the newly-discovered Out of Bounds glitch, a category has been rapidly created to accommodate for runs that use this to their advantage.

Serving as a misc category, we don't exactly know how we will be categorizing runs, at this point. For now, they have their quarantined area with Any%, Random%, and 100% subcategories.

While we attempt to involve the community in any decision we make, until further notice, this change is not subject to approval by runners. You are, of course, free to give your suggestions on this subject, moving forward on this thread or in our discord.

As of July 29, 2019 @ 23:34 EST, a new rule has been set into place. Runs have been categorized by two things:

  • SCP-008
  • Surveillance Room

The versions prior to 1.3 allow for completion of runs without lifting the lockdown in the Surveillance Room and containing SCP-008. The versions after 1.3 usually entail lifting the lockdown in the Surveillance Room and containing SCP-008.

This was where we've concluded version 1.3 as the version where we draw the line for runs.

So, most run in the Any% and Random% has been migrated to Legacy Any% and Legacy Random% respectively. M̶a̶n̶,̶ ̶w̶e̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶y̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶v̶0̶.̶9̶.̶3̶ ̶a̶ ̶l̶o̶t̶.

Feel free to take a glance at, if you'd like. Anything concerning this topic is welcome to be posted here.

Many thanks to @Forx for assisting me in this rule change.

As we are now accepting members from Secret Laboratory and Nine-Tailed Fox Mod, we've isolated Containment Breach to a channel on the discord by roles. Upon joining, simply ask one of the staff members for this role. It will be required to see the channel.

In the case you are here to submit your runs for the Nine-Tailed Fox Mod, this is not the right place to be. However, if you are a member of the Nine-Tailed Fox Mod series and wish to see your dedicated channel, ask for the Containment Breach role. Your speedrunning site is here: https://www.speedrun.com/scpntf

The rules of the speedrunning community are in effect. If you are not familiar with them, feel free to glance them over at the bottom of this page: https://www.speedrun.com/Introductions/thread/x7sp4

Enjoy!
