I'm highly interested in running this but I only have access to emulator as well, and without times to compare or anything of that nature it feels somewhat pointless to run. I would really love to see an emulator category as well.
I'm also no expert to how emulation works, but wouldn't the difference in the end not be drastic enough to have to mandate which emulators are used? Again, I'm no expert but it seems like the differences would be extremely slim. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I'd just love to have some fun competition with this game.
I would love to run this game but only have access to either emulator or the xbox one version of it on Rare Replay. Could separate categories be made for these versions? This is such a great game and would love to run this.
Hey Rapix, thanks for the message on the heads up for this forum post.
1/2 - Sure I'll add PS4 pro and Europe regions. 3 - Choosing when the boss dies may seem arbitrary for the runner but as a moderator actually makes it really easy. I usually choose when the screen goes black but since it's a quick flash then enters cutscene it actually makes it more difficult to time out for right there. Also, believe it or not, I've been softlocked on the boss death animation and so the split before hand will still count the run even if that crazy garbage happens lol. If the player splits late on the final boss I'll adjust the submitted time.
PS - I'll add more moderators if the speedruns of this get more popular
Ah well that's too bad that they patched that. It was fun while it lasted. I'll take the category down.
So I know this game is not fleshed out at all, but you would think there's another ending. If anybody finds anything new for another category, go ahead and post it here.
I was wondering if there are any rules about pausing during this run considering the length and there are virtually no breaks. If we indicate it in the notes or anything?
Also are turbo controllers okay? That would at least make it possible to sneak in a bathroom break every now and then if pausing isn't allowed.
I'm also totally down for segmented runs. I just love this game and would love to run it but damn, it's long
Could we add a booster% category for the consoled remastered version? I know the boosters for console and PC are different and I would love to run the game this way!
As far as I know the gender does not matter in the overall run. I believe everything still plays out the same way.
Would it be allowable to use turbo controllers for the Any% (booster) PS4 category? It would certainly make a lot of the run less tedious and not feel like I'm developing carpal tunnel.
Awesome, thanks guys. Glad I get to do a Resident Evil run in English lol
I've noticed some people doing speedruns in Japanese but does this save any time in the end? So far I haven't been able to tell a difference but maybe I'm not looking at the right things.
I was just running it today and everything was working fine so I have no idea
It would be nice to have each board with each category possibly in level leaderboards or something. Like normal, 10 turns on a certain board. Doing an all boards run would be like 3 hours so having shorter runs would be nice
I’m new to running MARIO party but I assume there will be categories for each of the MARIO party board plays such as 10 turns on a certain board on a certain difficulty. Will there be categories like this or will it be more specific?
NG+ is definitely going to make a difference for speed running this game, it will actually make it bearable. Glad to see that ?maybe? they were listening to the speedrunning community?
Hey I'm seeing if anyone is active on this page anymore. A friend of mine has been running and I plan on running it again but no one has verified his time in quite a while. If no one's moderating may I be added as a moderator so I can verify the times? Thanks.
I'd be interested, but I think with how straightforward the run is the time's would be too close, or frankly just not very exciting. I don't know, those are my two cents.
