The #1 reason is being a massive idiot, and I'm not saying that facetiously.
As long as you have some brain cells to rub together and know how to behave like a normal human being around others, you won't get banned.
Preferably you want to have at least a basic familiarity with the structure of SRcom before trying to be a game moderator, enough to realize that submission details can be edited at least.
@x_factor: Sitewide recommendation is to wait 3 weeks before complaining about runs not getting verified. The moderators have lives, and your run isn't going anywhere.
@HachyMingo: No.
Any chance we can get the option to change default timing methods per category, as opposed to per game?
We've currently got an issue in Sonic Adventure 2 Category Extensions where we'd really like some categories to be sorted by RTA by default, and others by IGT, but we have to sort by one or the other for every board.
On the main SA2 board we get around this problem in All Stories by simply not submitting IGT stats for that category (IGT being the primary) but it would be nice if the options for this were a little more sophisticated for cases in which the same timing method isn't really appropriate across various categories.
^ And signifies the importance of mods having their shit together and actually practicing good moderation methodologies.
Yeah this update has honestly made me lose a lot of the remaining interest I had in running this game. With AGDQ submissions coming up, people will be 'expecting' to see the JP version submitted, and fuck that.
It's a shame too since JP does objectively save a BOATLOAD of time in Geno, at least a minute and a half. I just cannot be arsed to play on it. Maybe if a Linux patch that behaves exactly as the current English Linux version is rolled out.
You absolutely do not need to provide a phone number for Twitch, that's for two-factor authentication only.
I can't think of a better way to squander whatever momentum you built up than to close with a quote by Hitler.
What makes you think his PC wouldn't be able to run the PC version if he's been playing on emulator? Emulation typically takes more CPU strength and resources than playing the same game on a native version, because there's more legwork involved in running an emulated game on a foreign system.
If it wasn't allowed then we wouldn't have verified it now would we?
The game is 10 dollars.
If you're not willing to spend that to play the best version, but you're willing to buy a capture card to play an inferior version then I don't even know what to tell you.
