i asked g0dh34d and this should be the order of the saves:
1 - obelisk
2 - abella normal (currently useless)
3 - toilet%
4 - end A
5 - abella maso wrenchtoss (useless)
6 - abella maso
7 - old marcoh normal
8 - obelisk
9 - marcoh normal
10 - olivia end c (useless)
So keep files 4, 6, 8 (if you ever feel like killing obelisk), and 9. File 6 is for both Masochism routes. Ill make sure to add this to the resource description.
And O'saa spawns in one of five random locations and is not seeded so you have to check each spot but thankfully the current route passes close each one.
-One location is one screen down from the orphanage head to the right and he spawns near a landmine and a chest
-One location is right next to the the statue in Sylvian Square
-One location is one screen to the right of Sylvian Square he is directly above you in that alley
-One location is to the left of the church, above where sergal kills the bobby
-One location is immediately after the sergal fight, he blocks your way so you can't miss him
Okay thank you and also one last concern i had was about how we will have proactive changes. The game is almost certainly going to have bug fix patches after the big update drops meaning the leader boards would be "scrubbed" with each new update. I think to combat this we should use an optimal patch instead of "current patch" so long as no new content is added. For example in the legend of zelda ocarina of time all runners use a specific version of the game (1.0.2 i believe) because it is faster. The newer versions of the game dont add content but fix/add bugs but ultimately runners use the most efficient version. I feel like going in this direction is better however theres two issues: making downpatching easier and finding which patch is the fastest. I think when the update drops we can just accept runs from any patch (for example i could have a 2.0.1 patch compete with a run from patch 2.0.4 ) as long as it doesnt have any extra content (like new enemies/areas) but im not entirely sure how to solve the first issue of downpatching
Sorry if my question doesn't make sense I just don't know how to word it
Yeah I think that rule update for b is a necessary evil. Or else it will literally just be end c with a different dialogue choice at perkele. Also I would like to request a change to make all the audio mandatory instead of some optional. Having music optional is just asking to have someone splice a run and make it hard to catch
I think before we discuss this we need to talk about the moderation. We can't ignore the elephant in the room because we need to get our house in order first. I've opened a thread earlier about this topic.
Hi everyone, I'm making this post because I wanna discuss the current moderation team for Termina speedruns. Multiple speedrun community members recently filed reports to the speedrun site admins with the goal of re-appointing moderators who are (1) actively engaged in Termina speedrunning and its community and (2) capable of effectively and respectfully communicating with active runners to develop guidelines for runs that the whole community agrees upon.
As it stands, there are multiple moderators who don't fit either of these criteria. I don't know who ceswayne is but he was recently bumped up to supermoderator despite his account being completely inactive for 10 months. There is also holypredazor whose account is only 10 days old and has no apparent history of speedrunning this game at all.
This matter concerning the moderation team and its underlying problems continues unresolved. In particular, adarkraccoon's limited communication to private platforms that he exclusively regulates rather than maintain open and respectful communication on this forum as is pretty typical across other speedrunning communities. Ruupa, unlike adarkraccoon, has taken great care on this forum to communicate thoughtfully with current speedrunners like g0dh34d and I to share the information we need to continue speedrunning and develop future run guidelines that we can all agree on. With these reasons in mind, I believe ruupa and g0dh34d should be the only two Termina moderators, both sharing supermoderator status, and they should be in charge of the speedrun rules/community and any future changes. I think this would make sense and be best for the health of our speedrunning community moving forward.
Sorry to pester but what happened to the mod team? Why is there a super mod that hasn't run and why is there a new person with mod who also hasn't run? Also I forgot to ask but we are going to be reverting all the rules/changes then?
What will be the proposed rules for glitchless?
Ok thank you for the update
Opening this here so we can just get down to business and tall about our opinions on the new rules. Should be more than enough to have every runner heard here
Raccoon I've stated it before, I blocked you for personal reasons. Please respect that. These forums should be enough to have discussions about runs, but instead we are being ignored and demoded for stating our opinions on the rules for running. Meanwhile you have modded someone who we dont even know who has never run at all. Its incredibly unfair and grossly irresponsible to treat this as some kind of extension of your discord server. As one of the two most active runners i do believe my suggestions should at least be respected or carry weight. Im sorry but my decision to block you still stands because im afraid of the harassment you might continue to give me.
Are the new glitchless% and any% routes currently in effect? These category changes are frustrating because we were told that the rules wouldn't change until after the new update drops. We weren't asked for our input for these changes and we are still waiting for to know what (if any) glitches are allowed in glitchless%. The load remover is also borderline necessary to keep the speedrunning playing field as fair as possible. It wouldnt feel good if someone with the most up to date pc crushed any of our times and made it impossible to WR. I really just feel like I shouldn't run because of this. Also it's very frustrating that we are receiving no direct responses or even having what little input we've suggested heard. Please tell us what the state of speedrunning is here and ask us for our input here or in another thread before making huge changes.
Please tell us here what your suggestion for the rules for glitchless would be here. You can't just make these changes and have us wait and then sit through a YouTube video to explain glitchless % to us when you havent even told us or asked us our input regarding this new category. That being said, in my opinion the only glitch allowed in glitchless should be the bolt cutters to allow any character to at least be viable. And also LRT should at the very least be optional
Huh? Why are these rules allowed for glitchless? Any word on load remover?
I think the general consensus is that lrt is very beneficial for runners who lose time to load times. In the end b category I lose 26 seconds to load times while g0dh34d loses about 31 seconds. These 5 seconds can be very huge if we are going to wr and it only makes sense to at the very least have the option available for us. I hope you please bring back the lrt back to the runs.
I'm not looking to start anything. I just would like to know if you will be allowing lrt as an optional portion
Sorry but i blocked you for personal reason please respect that. I really just would like to know if you can at least make lrt optional
It makes the game fair for those who dont have good pcs. even if its just optional it would level the playing field
Why did you remove lrt? Can you bring it back? It makes the game fair for every runner and it only takes less than 10 minutes to install. Most pc games have lrt anyways so you'd need to learn to set it up either way
