I've only seen brief gameplay, and have not personally checked out the game myself. I might do an emu run at some point just to check it out, but yeah. If anyone runs this game, please feel free to post comments about rulings for any%, 100%, and any other categories.

Hey, I did a run of the DS version today. Wasn't sure where to end the Any% timing so I just have the entire run until I got back to the camp timed instead. Should I stop time after the final boss, after the level complete screen fades to black (which is what I have uploaded right now), or end when credits are done? Also there is a bonus level after any% is done and was wondering whether that would factor into its own category (like All Levels or something), or just only do it with a 100% run-through.

We can make the rules whatever you would like for any of those categories since you're the first person to bring it up here 🙂 The timing for the console categories end at the cutscene after the final boss just because you can still die in the time it takes for the boss death animation to play out, but I have no idea what it's like for DS version. I'm sure what you have is a good timing method, if you think there is a better one feel free to let me know! And if you'd like, I'd say Any% and 100% would be good main categories. I'd assume the bonus level isn't too long, but if you'd like we can definitely make all levels a category too, even if it was just a misc. category. It'd probably be best to do the bonus level for 100%, but if you think otherwise i'd be down to hear the reasoning 🙂

For now I'll probably just keep my timing as starting New Game and ending with the fade to black after the last level is complete. If it gets changed to after the fade to white when the final boss gets beaten it can be pretty easily changed. Also I'm not entirely sure how long the final level is just because I didn't finish it when I was playing after the run. Either way I'll try to figure out what collectibles are necessary for a "100%" category of this game when I can. Had a fun time running this though and I want to see if I can get a sub-50 with some better boss strats sometime soon.

Sounds good. If you would like an IL leaderboard too I can add one. It looks like with some if not all levels there are boss fights that don't count for the IGT so it might be best to time some in RTA. Good luck with your runs man, tbh it looks more fast paced that the other versions, so that's dope 🙂

Oh yeah an IL board would be cool, that way all gadgets could be used on any level. There are 7 levels including the bonus. Only thing is should there be a separation between all gadgets and only gadgets you get for that level? Or just all gadgets?

we could do either one or both. We could also make an Any% NG+ category if you want, if you think it'd be interesting enough (if it's only like a few minutes faster than it might not be, but I don't know the game well)

I could do an Any% NG+ run in a bit to see if there's a huge difference between the two. I could see it saving around 3-5 minutes, but I'll check to make sure.

Only if you'd like to, just was wanting to know so I can put it on the IL Leaderboard. IL Leaderboard is up and all levels for all games are on there 🙂 only thing I'm curious about is whether there is a boss on that level or not.

Hey, so I beat that bonus level. There's no boss, but NG+ just got way more interesting. There's an ultimate cheat code given to you that makes you take zero damage, all gadgets from the beginning, no dog meter drainage, and can get unlimited points. This actually seems really fun to test out and will probably attempt a run of this as soon as I can.

Hey, figured out some new stuff. This game's 100% is defined by getting all the bugs in the collection, and I've found out how to get them all by playing through every level 2x, playing all the mini games, and buying all the upgrades. Will try to get a recorded run done this weekend.
As for Cheat%, I've tested it a bit and I feel that it's basically the same as NG+, but saves maybe 30 seconds more because we don't ever need to use the hearing aid.

I found an Out of bounds in this game many years ago. In the second level, you can basically run into the side of the wall (where the vines are) and you will fall down to a lower level OOB. IDK if it is useful and near the end, the floor does disappear. If you are riding Kevin when you fall into the void, the game will softlock.
