4-2 strats

Found this while recently running the game. I tried seeing if it works anywhere else, but so far no luck. All you have to do is dash into the wall and usually it will take you right up on top. I'm not sure how the wind effects it, but usually it works better for me when there is none. This saves a couple seconds and hopefully it can be used in other spots as well.

In case the gif doesn't show, basically in 4-2 where you have to climb the bit and crawl some and after the first crawl then hop across, just dash into the wall until you get sent to the top near the spikes.

Great find, thanks a lot for sharing! Just tried it out and got it first try. I've also found another spot within the same level where it worked after a few tries - at the end of the level where you'd have to jump up the steps. That one doesn't seem to be as reliable though and it doesn't save much time either, but it shows that there might be more spots where that glitch works! (Or the developers were just sloppy on 4-2 exclusively)

Edit:

The place I've been trying this the most is 3-4 because it would hopefully skip that long autoscroller. 4-2 does seem to be sloppy in general though. Edit: I think I know when it works now. It seems to only work when the wind is pushing, so that means that it can be only used to be skipped to the left. There are a lot of spots it can be done in 4-2, but not many save time. I guess this means it can't really be done out of stages with wind or something pushing them. I haven't tested other levels in world 4, but the only level I can think of that has wind outside of those is hasseholf's body, but this skip couldn't be used there.

Edit3: so this can done in 4-3. There are only maybe two spots where this could help with time. In the section where you crawl and climb before you drop there are several different spots it can be done. I haven't figured out if the fastest would be to first go left and jump up to run into the wall and go to the top there or first go right and run left after. Both of these require you to dash and then jump around 3 seconds after the wind starts so it doesn't blow you off the top. This same thing can be used right after in the section where the boulders roll down. You can dash into the wall and then jump off to the right to get to the end. This needs some precise timing, but it should be faster when you get used to it. Seems like these are the only two levels it is useful however.

Whoops didn't see this comment earlier before I made another thread. For 4-3 during boulders is a huge time save. It's the same as before, run into the wall while wind is active, but as soon as you get the clip immediately hold right and glide out of the wall. You'll either land on top of the hill or on the wooden platforms. This took me a few tries but once you time the wind you should be consistent.

Update: Don't glide (double jump) just hit right and A at the same time when you hear the noise. It's way more consistent.
