Also you really should know not to enter a trigger that pushes you back if you don't know where it'll try to push you to (softlock in garage, softlock in expo stadium). Project Beat was a fangame based on jet set radio future but the development was awful and ended shortly (not taken down by SEGA like most fangames). So yeah unfortunately months and months after development stopped the original mod decided to meme up a dead leaderboard (xD face).

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is hold forward and just a little to the left because I never remember losing a run there. It was always instinct to hold left a bit anyway to help cut the corner. Could it be because you're clicking the thumbstick too early to try and shuffle as soon as the grind ends? Clicking the thumbstick while riding a halfpipe drops you down into it. Let me know if either of these help!

A shuffle? Press the left thumbstick (the one for player movement) in. We use it to maintain momentum.

Avoid boosting in 99th street especially when in the laggier sections like looking towards the tower, it'll end up hurting you more. Good luck man!

Yeah load times are a nice advantage but obviously more important is skill. If you don't already have an xbox than it's worth looking for a modded one (especially a 1.6 xbox like the crystal edition), but if you already have one just start out learning all of the strats and routes of this game before spending a lot of money towards it.
