I'm happy to announce that the boards now have a Misc. category for No Guest House!

These save files are only compatible with the MS Store/Xbox One version of RE7. Unfortunately, at this time, the Steam version cannot be used. I will continue to research it and see if we can make this possible at a later date.

If you're a PC runner, make sure you're using the autosplitter (even if you don't use the autosplit functionality) as it has built in load removal. You will NOT be posting your final "Results Screen" game time to the leaderboards, but your LiveSplit time with load removal applied. Make sure you're comparing against game time to have the load removal function properly. Make sure the "No Guest House%" setting is also checked in your split settings.
The rules for this category are as follows:
Beat the game as fast as possible.
Single segment from the zero'd IGT game save provided by CursedToast.
Only acceptable game load is the zero'd IGT save provided by CursedToast. Loading any other save is not allowed. Using "Retry" is allowed.
Audio must be Game and Microphone audio only. No part of the game footage/audio is to be eliminated for any reason.
PC is timed RTA using the autosplitter with load removal.
Xbox is timed via IGT. You must pause and display the stats screen immediately upon gaining control of Ethan. The time shown will be subtracted from the time at the end of the game statistics screen for the final run time.

And after launching the game (now that it's on C) you're not seeing the folder? Can you get a screenshot for your Packages folder sorted alphabetically for me please?
Interesting. What happens if you search your computer for the folder name in the video?
Have you checked the drive you originally installed the game to? Is there any other user account folders on the system? Might be easier to jump on Discord if you have it.
Why do runners have to use this save file you provide, what's wrong with runners just creating the save themselves? Would make it possible for the steam and pirated versions of the game.
I think the idea is that everyone uses the same save file, starts with the same exact things done, same exact position, Zero'd out game time, etc. Consistency.
The load removal does not work with the pirated version, irregardless.
And I'm still looking into supporting the Steam version, somehow. Either way, a lot of people are switching to Cero D anyway due to the large time saves just from playing that version.
Ok but is it really necessary? There's not much can be different after the guest house anyway, I think it'd be much simpler to just define a specific save spot and if necessary inventory items, and if it's going to be timed with RTA with load removals then zero-ing the IGT isn't necessary at all.
I'm confused as to how i get the save file onto my Xbox..Do I need to do any of this to be eligible for a run?
To get this on the Xbox you have to follow the steps in the video to get it on the Windows 10 PC version of the game first. Once the save file is on your Windows 10 version of the game, which you already own if you bought any digital version of RE7 on the Xbox, then you can start up the game on your Xbox afterwards and the game will Sync the saves and you’ll have it.
*To be clear, I am not talking about the Steam version of RE7. This is using the version RE7 that is available through the Microsoft Store on Windows 10.
You do have to have that exact save in order to run the No Guest House category. Using any other saves will make the run invalid.
And to reply to the post above about this on Steam, since I didn’t see the post when it was made last year and I want to make it clear, this is not possible on Steam because Steam does not allow you to load other people’s save files. Therefor, there is no Steam version of No Guest House. Alike, there is no PS4 No Guest House because you can’t trade saves on that platform either.
thanks for replying. i have the cero D version on my xbox, does it have to be the cero D version on the ms store as well? im assuming it would have to be.
The save was done on the Cero D version of the game, so I too am assuming you’d need to download the Cero D version on PC to sync correctly.
would you like to do it in madhouse mode, how would it be possible? and the save link provided is not working!

Since this zip/package was repackaged from my saves and I already have everything unlocked it also includes all of the unlockable items necessary for the run, including the dirty coin for Madhouse runs.
I'm still a bit confused about the save file ordeal I only have an Xbox one I don't have a laptop that could run or even download re7, so I'm I just completely unable to do this run or is there a workaround for this that I just didn't read?
