We should add a officiall category called "icarus". A speedrunner named couriway, who holds the WR for RSG java. Promoted this. And we should add this. :)

@GILlee_PT be nice, the guys making a suggestion and he gets someone shouting "wrong!" at him, it likely leaves him with a bad impression of the community as whole

Instead of using a datapack, could they activate cheats when they create the world and give themselves the items before they move, and then turn cheats back off and start the run?

icarus would be rly fun, but like other people said, its hard to do on bedrock

icarus isn't even an official minecraft java category, it is it's own "game" with it's own mod team and own leaderboards. It seems unnecessarily difficult to add, and mod a bedrock icarus. For instance if you were to have to equip the elytra yourself, like @UnSync suggested, we would have the problem of once they are done giving themselves the elytra and rockets, when does the timer start? What if they look around the world before the timer starts? It just seems too hard to mod for it to be a category.

If someone could create it as a category extension, and the rules and creativity to get the rockets and elytra, then back to survival, the timer stops after you went through the end portal after killing the ender dragon, I'd do it. it seems to be the only way to do Icarus for Bedrock. (I'd make the category extension but I have no idea how)
