Grim Fandango: Remastered Any% Speedrun Route Guide

Preface

This guide is meant as a starting point for anyone interested in learning the Grim Fandango: Remastered speedrun route. I will not cover any glitches or tech in this guide, with one exception; this is simply to get you from start to finish with as few inputs as possible. I strongly recommend watching the setup/tricks/tech guide created by thewoofs before using this guide, as it contains a lot of helpful information to get you started. I hope you find this useful, and that you enjoy running Grim Fandango!

Using This Guide

This guide should take you through every screen, and every action required to finish the game. The actions are broken up into keywords which are defined as follows:

• CHOOSE: Select an option from a menu, usually by clicking on it.
• ENTER: Move to a new screen. Any time you click while your cursor is displayed as an arrow, you are ENTER-ing.
• EXIT: Like ENTER, but usually for getting out of a vehicle.
• GET: Pick up the named item with your pick up key, or the pick up icon on the verb coin. You can usually accomplish this with the USE action as well, but not always.
• RUN: Exactly what it sounds like. Make Manny go somewhere fast by holding your run key or double clicking.
• SLIDE: There are a few instances where utilizing the Item Slide tech can save significant enough time for me to note here. Item Sliding is accomplished by double-clicking on your destination, and equipping any item from your inventory using a number key. Watch thewoof’s setup/tricks/tech guide for more information. 
• STORE: Put an item into your inventory. The fastest method is usually by pressing your pick up key.
• TALK: Speak to a character using your action key or the speech bubble icon on the verb coin.
• USE: Use an item, either by itself or on another character/item. If the step simply says “USE (item)”, the item will either be on screen, or you will need to equip it from your inventory.

Any time a step includes a series of numbers, it means you should select the corresponding dialogue option, 1 being the option at the top of the list. Some dialogues will be started automatically, hence the lack of a preceding TALK action before the numbers.
