Hey all,
I own an SNES Classic and modded it to add more ROMs, and was wondering if a hack of this manner would ruin the validity of a speedrun performed on the system. If I'm resurrecting an already-discussed topic then I apologize, but I tried to look for a thread on this topic in this forum and came up short.
Thanks,
Hat
I think that if the change does not directly affect the execution of the speedrun, it can pass.
It depends entirely on the game’s community for whatever ROMs you hacked onto the console. However the general consensus is that modding a console to do something like that is banned because the ROMs you’re playing on it aren’t native to the system itself so there is no gaurentee that it’s being emulated properly.
you can submit, but you should definitely give the mods all information available, as @Timmiluvs already said, you're playing on a modified console, and especially the SNES classic already has problems with its emulation, so unless the specifics are known, the mods can't make an informed decision.
