Hi so, i just signed up after watching a video by Jayden Animations on yt. I really thaught it would be fun to try a speedrun as well cuz i've never done it. but i got a few questions.

One of them being: do the runs need to be uploaded with a video? because i was thinking about doing a run of a DS game on my 3DS but i dont own a capture card. is it still allowed to submit runs like that?

Welcome to the site! You should check the rules for each game you speedrun. Few games will allow submitting without a video, and some games will allow submitting without a video only if your time is slow enough, but the majority of leaderboards that respect themselves will require a video as a proof of the run. Remember, no vid no did.

^ To add on to what Oreo was saying,

You don't necessarily need to have a 3DS capture card. Those are rare to come by nowadays and as long as your video quality isn't garbage you can generally just point a camera at it if you have one you can use. But yeah, the golden rule of this site is "no vid, no did".
