This is a bit of an oddity. When you die very early on without touching any benches in the game, you will find yourself warped to the bench mid-way up the giant vertical shaft you start the game in.

The good news is that this places you above the final collectible in the game. The bad news is that without double jump/wall jump/air dash, there still seems to be no way to pick this up at this stage of the game. Putting this info out there in case someone finds a way to make it work.
