I'm just curious as to why emulators are banned. I'm assuming because there's no accurate emulator for the game?

Just weird since the game is hard to find and super expensive so most people wouldn't be able to run on anything other than emulator. Most people can't afford a 600 dollar(at the time of originally writing this post 3 months ago they were sold out on amazon and the Ebay games had skyrocketed in price) game. And it seems like it would be easy enough to just make a separate category for them. So just curious on the reasoning.

PS1 emulation is pretty accurate. If you wanna' run with emulator so be it, probably be a different category or w/e.

Symm you aren't a mod and have absolutely no say in this community lol. And the point was being the complete ban of emus on the leaderboard for a game literally no one can afford. Like it really seems like one person only wants their times on the leaderboards alone. It would be extremely easy to make misc categories for emu or even just make it so that console don't overlap and it would be obvious to see console WR vs emu wr.

I just pointed out that it's ludicrous to expect people to be able to afford extremely expensive rare games to get a time on a leaderboard. Lots of single job kids out of college trying to pay debts can't really do that.

It's not a problem of can I run with emu because you know I fucking would because I'm broke. It's a problem of classist elitism against people who can't afford games. And it was completely ignored because the mods don't give a shit. They just want their comfy uncontested WR.

If they gave a proper reasoning okay that's fine. I'd still say her make misc categories for it. But since they haven't and don't want to talk about the issue I'm just going to assume their assholes. Inb4 thread is deleted.

It was a initial choice by me to disallow emulators since I wasn't too knowledgeable on which emulators are accurate enough for the leaderboards and I was looking more into it (Such as load times, emulator-only glitches) back then and I'm fully aware of how expensive the games are sicne I bought this game and Eternia which is rougly 200 dollars. If you're interested in running Destiny and want to use emulator just let me know and I can figure something out. :v)

Thanks, sorry for kinda ranting and assuming the worst. I've just had a lot of game elitists who are against emu's simply because they own the games and it's really frustrating. And after not getting a response for like 3 months and then Symm randomly acting like he was in charge of the community I went a little over the top xD I was kinda interested in running Destiny 3 months ago. But now I think I kind of want to learn Vesperia instead? So unfortunately my opinions aren't even relevant at this point outside of being angry ranting. It's fine. Speedrun.com doesn't notify people of forum posts unless you follow the game for some reason so I didn't know you posted here until someone else told me about it. I found 3 runners who did a New Game run of Vesperia on PS3 if you want to base your route off of that.

I was not acting like I was in charge of anything. What I'm saying is you should use what you have, regardless of the game. Even if you have to class it as a different category.
