Guides for speedrunning tigger's honey hunt any%

the N64 version is the fastest version of the game because the PS1 and PC versions contain more loading screens and a few extra cut scenes. playing the game on the emulator will reduce lag quite a bit, especially in "Tigger, the witch, and the wardrobe".

RNG:

There are only 2 major RNG come from two mini-games in the run, "Pooh stick" and "paper, scissors, owl". In Pooh stick, it's RNG depending on if Pooh throws the stick at the top of the screen or bottom, and RNG if the patches of water go across pooh's stick which makes the stick move faster. throwing the stick at the way bottom and getting back faster than you is the worst possible RNG and pooh throwing the stick at the top of the screen is the 2nd worst possible RNG. it doesn't matter much where you throw the stick in this mini game as long as your stick wins in each round, throw the stick as closest to the bottom of the screen as possible.

in "Paper Scissors, Owl" the RNG is what OWL will choose in a "rock paper sicssors" mini game. pay attention to the rhythm that Owl uses to choose his item. it will switch every second but it's not always in sync with the marimba sound in game. everytime you lose or tie with Owl in a round will waste 4 seconds.

Routing:

there's not much to routing in this game, all it is is just getting the fastest honey pots in each level. it's best not to go into bonus areas to get more pots as it doesn't speed up the game at all. The only bonus area that is faster is the one in "Dark Trees and Busy Bees". A cut scene where rabbit jumps off a ledge will lead you to this bonus area in the game.

Skips:

there are 4 known skips in the game as of 4/4/2017, The are in the last two non mini-game levels in the game.

1.) in the begining of "beyond the frog pond", use the super jump in front of the checkpoint to get to the platform above, then jump to the ledge on the right. This will skip Owl's cutscene where he explains the super jump to you.

2). When you find pooh, get to the edge of the pond and use a super jump straight up, then flap your arms to get around the cutscene trigger, this will save about 10 seconds.

3.) In "Tigger, the Witch, And the wardrobe", there is a cutscene where you pull pooh out of a pile of rocks. you can completely avoid this cutscene by using the lesser power of the superjump to collect the honey pots and be below the cutscene trigger.

4.) Now we get to the hardest trick in the game. you can skip Owl's cutscene by lining Tigger up with the roots on the tree house in the background and use the super jump and the hover to move around the cut scene trigger for Owl counting your honey pots. this cut scene can be pretty tricky since the trigger of this cutscene extends farther than most triggers.

Fastest movement in the game:

the fastest movement in the game is the Super Jump. by pressing down the Z button (on N64) and pressing the right button, you can launch yourself forward and save a second or two compared to normal running. Unfortunatly you can only get this near the end of the game so you only use it for the last 2 non minigame levels. otherwise the faster movement in the game is just moving forward with Tigger bouncing while moving.
