Most strats explained for new runners (with video showcase) - unfinished

The following is a compilation of clips for most of the strats/tricks we use to help you get into speedrunning this game quicker:

• Dialogue Skipping. The most common trick in Godfather speedruns. Normally, you trigger a dialogue with spacebar. What we do is the following: We click our right mouse to lock onto the NPC we want to skip the dialogue with. Then, it's almost a simultaneous press of spacebar + the left mouse button to "trigger" a grab, whilst being locked onto the NPC. What this does, is that the game will allow you to grab a person and if done correctly, you'll get booted out of the dialogue, therefore skipping it and allowing you to continue on with the run faster. However, not all dialogues in the game are the same. Some of them require a different technique. Instead of releasing mouse buttons right away, you need to fling the person to the side in order for the skip to work. Flinging is done by moving your mouse around. Video showcase:

• Bar Skip (discovered by Vulkie). Takes place in "Death to the Traitor". Instead of entering the bar using the front door, we go out back up the first set of stairs and draw the bomb (which you get in the restaurant seconds before). We break through the invisible wall, position ourselves 4-5 steps away from the door, aim downwards and chuck the bomb through the wall. This saves 10 seconds compared to normal approach and is somewhat risky. Not recommended doing in your first few runs. Video showcase:

• Paulie Snipe. (discovered by Vulkie). Takes place in "Death to the Traitor". There isn't much to explain, you go down the labyrinth and get a quick kill on Paulie. Potential time save of 15 seconds compared to normal execution. Video showcase:

• Crypt. Takes place in "Now it's Personal". To get through it quickly, you need to get a good dynamite throw. Make sure to equip it before entering crypt (8 on keyboard) to avoid any trouble. Aim for the hallway, then finish off the survivors. Don't pay any attention to kneeled or downed opponents that aren't in your way, the main objective is to get to the cutscene trigger. Video showcase:

• "Fast Bruno". Takes place in "The Silent Witness". Seems to be fully dependant on RNG. What happens is instead of walking up to Aldo normally, Bruno gets stuck and therefore his speech and animation get prolonged. It allows us to grab him as soon as the animation finishes and not waste any time chasing him around the room. Potential time save of 15-20 seconds compared to normal approach. Video showcase:

• Fast Warehouse. Takes place in "Sonny's War". Instead of going through the warehouse on foot, we take the car and ram our way through to the backdoor entrance. (You need at least 6 health points to pass this) Make sure to run over two guys by the door to avoid taking any damage. Then run down to the end of the warehouse and interrogate the guy by choking him out. You can still die even with perfect execution, since the amount of damage you take is pure RNG. Potential time save is around 1m30s compared to normal approach. Video showcase:

• "Barzini Skip". Takes place in first half of "Order to Kill". We use a certain amount of upgrades in health and speed (7-8 and 3, respectively) in order to bypass all the enemies and go to the trigger at the top of the motel. You need a bit of luck and good maneuvering to avoid getting stuck on the corners. Saves 35-45s compared to normal approach. Video showcase:

• Blowing up Monk. Takes place in second half of "Order to Kill" when you chase down Monk and confront him at the bar. Use mouse buttons to "grab" yourself out of Monk's dialogue zone and jump over the ledge. Hit the right corner and enter the bar room. Crouch behind the bar, draw a dynamite and chuck it inbetween the wall and a piano (where Monk is standing). When you see "Objective complete" message appear, you are free to run out of the bar. Saves about 40-50s compared to normal approach. Video showcase:

• Cuneo Hit. Takes place in "Baptism by Fire". To quickly complete a hit, take out the two guys in front, then enter from the back and kill Don Cuneo. Wait for Willie to stop being a fool and quickly talk to him, then run out the same way you entered. Saves about 30s compared to normal approach. Video showcase:

• "Nickie Skip" (discovered by Nickie). Takes place in "Baptism by Fire" after the completion of a hit on Don Tattaglia. Usually you leave the place normally through the front door and the cutscene triggers. However, Nickie found a way to skip this. As you exit, you wanna hug the wall outside (on the right side!) to avoid the cutscene playing. Time save is 17 seconds AND it also completely removes the chase that always happens when the cutscene is finished. Video showcase:
