My impression is that before arriving to speedrun.com, ELO already had their own preferred methods for contact/feedback/etc. (This is me hypothesizing with zero evidence, but we could see if ELO uses similar methods with its other websites).

In any case, it's easier to organize data through Google Forms than manually sorting through a long forum post; that's likely another factor.

I do read the post that necroes a thread. 90% of the time its completely unrelated, related but basically repeats what others said (or just responds couple years late when its no longer helpful) or its not helpful, 5% its related but still different enough that it should have its own thread and 5% its fine.
