add a option on games to disable custom themes so if a certain theme doesn't apply with the name color, you can just set it to your theme https://i.imgur.com/CxloqR7.png

@Bob-chickenBob-chicken While the link with the "shorts" is not embedded, the runner (or the moderator) can submit the direct link to the video, and it will work.
You can go into the run video, press share, and you will get the "un-short" link.

Ok I just thought that it would be a simple little thing for convenience.

Better variables management so that we can delete categories that doesn't exist and prevent this:

Why do I still post things in here, nothing happens anyway.

I’ve noticed that lately less and less series have been given moderation and I was thinking of possible ways to revamp the series moderation system so that they can’t just spam out leaderboards. Here’s what I came up with.

1. Indirect moderation
The concept of indirect moderation is that series mods have their respective power in all games of the series.
- Series verifiers can reject and verify all runs submitted in games within the series.
- Normal mods can edit leaderboard settings and add themselves (and only themselves) as normal game moderators.
- Super mods could edit all leaderboard settings, view individual game audit logs, delete leaderboards (if under 2 weeks old) and add and a edit game moderators (including themself). Additionally series super mods could be given the ability to remove and edit game super mods although this probably should be debated further.

2. Removing the ability for series mods to add games
The concept is pretty self explanatory, remove the ability for series to add games without requesting to be able to do so (See #3).

3. Requesting the ability to add games
Requesting to add games is the concept where series mods can make requests for their series to be given the ability to add games directly. This is so that site staff can control which series can and cannot add games directly. This could also be done on a user by user basis where trusted members of the community are allowed to add games in series that they are a mod of.

4. New game request category
This is also fairly self explanatory, the idea is that series that don’t have the ability to add games can request new games under a category on the game request page called “Series Game” or something along those lines. This allows site staff to easily designate between games that are completely standalone and new additions to a series.

5. User’s adding themself as series mods
This might be a rather controversial suggestion but this would allow users who mod a certain percentage (maybe 75% or even 100%) of games in a series to add themself as a series mod if no series mods already exist. Obviously series moderation requests would still be allowed through the normal moderation request thread.

I’m open to any feedback, these are just suggestions of course.

@GarshGarsh I see #1 and #5 as bad ideas. Allowing Series mods to mod games within the series isn't a good idea because then they could end up moderating games they have no idea about. Series moderator should be able to add mods to the games within the series', but they shouldn't be able to moderate the underlying games themselves. So, a series mod shouldn't be able to moderate all games automatically nor should they have the ability to add themselves to the series, even if they moderate a percentage of the games (unless maybe it's 100%).

For example, a series like Zelda is large and has a multitude of different games within it. A series moderator is unlikely to understand how to moderate every game within the series; it's not feasible for someone to understand all of the different Zelda games at a level needed for a moderator. So, they shouldn't be able to moderator the games within the series automatically, they would still need to be added to the individual games they can moderate. I'd go a step farther to say that a series mod shouldn't be able to add themselves to a game, another mod should have to do it for them.

@TimmiluvsTimmiluvs I agree with the 100% part, it probably would be a bad idea to allow users to add themselves unless they mod all games within the series. I also understand the logic behind not allowing series mods to add themselves to a game.

I don't necessarily agree about the moderation part because series moderators would only have the ability to mod games within the series but they aren't actually required to do so. Besides, series mods should moderate most games within the series anyway. A compromise would be allowing them to edit leaderboard settings but not allowing them to reject/verify runs.

I’d be okay with the compromise of letting them have access to the logistics on the board without having the ability to reject or verify runs. I’ll just go back to the Zelda example of the fact that a series mod tends to be a ZeldaSpeedruns Admin but not a single one of them has any experience moderating every game, so there is no way the underlying communities would want them intervening in the verification of runs they know nothing about.

This may not apply to every series, but for series with a lot of games and sub communities, you’re probably going to see similar things to this scenario where series mods are essentially overarching community admins rather than the people who mod the most individual games.

This is true although there are scenarios where you want overarching community admins like Roblox for example. A lot of different people mod Roblox games because of the request system and it would be good for the series mods to be able to edit leaderboards and even handle their own leaderboard moderation requests. Same goes for MC Custom Content and other similar fangame type series.

On another note, I was thinking about the series mods being able to add others but not themselves to leaderboards and I realized they could essentially circumvent that by adding someone else, having that person add them, then removing the other person (or having them remove themself).

With IGT games having ILs, and some of those ILs being pretty short, it'd be nice if the notification said:
X tied the WR in Y game. The current WR is Z-time.

Instead of saying that the user beat the WR and that there's a new best time.

@OxkniferOxknifer I think that if someone tied the WR (be it on full game or IL), the "WR notification" shouldn't even be sent at all.
