Yeah, I'll look into the best way to differentiate.

Originally posted by Slylobsterr I had a strange bug today and it's not the first time this issue happens, i'm submitting a run which is verified but apparently the record isn't showed on the "Latest runs" board...

I'm not sure what run you mean. Your only recent run I think is in Free Running 2 and that shows up on the front page just fine.

The Guides and Resources links in the game sidemenu will now be marked as empty if they are.
Wasn't sure if the Forum link should be marked as well, so it isn't right now.

Also the boxes on the about page are aligned now.

Here is my thread: http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/0xphf

I would like this to have just my posts. Anything anybody wants to say about what I post should be in a comment section type of thing underneath each individual post. Basically instead of continuing the thread, anybody who wants to contribute can leave a reply to the day's post. I would like every comment on there that isn't in the format of a daily post to be moved to a comment/reply section within each post.

I can certainly do that, but I'd like some more feedback on if everyone likes this or if it should be an option or something.

Update on this? I think most people like it.

@Neksus : This has already been requested to put mods instead of romhacks.
However, I think it's up to SourceRuns to ask for a page design, not you.

Jumpyluff, that's a pretty big forum update necessary to add that functionality.
i_o_l: I'll leave that up to Lighnat0r to prioritize or respond to. My opinion is essentially the same as it was, but some things were changed since then, so there could be additional overhead or concerns related to it.

Neksus: I've been pushing for an update to handle this, but it's not simple. Any hackish solution to this for the short term will just set us backwards in my opinion. Rom hacks are handled suboptimally on the site currently as it is.

Short version: I want the following tags for games (probably more)
- rom hack
- mod
- fangame
- homebrew

and I'd also like the front page and search bar to be able filter those items out through user profile settings.

Kirkq: Is it something that would be possible in the future?

  kirkqkirkq

I mean I'm not saying I'm against it, but there are numerous other items that would benefit the site/user base as a whole more in the short term.

If anything, maybe it would suggest a "user blog" style page instead of a "forum page". I'm not sure if throwing that code on top of the forums is beneficial.

so i requested the platform GB be added.. it was.. but then this meme happened in all games that made the switch

  StarvinStruthersStarvinStruthers

so i realized i just need to edit my submitted times so that the submitted platform matches the games platform.. fixed everything

  kirkqkirkq

Yeah, runs don't work well with data types that are no longer defined for the game. Has to be re-edited.

Any reason why resources for any games can only be added by mods? Very limiting for no real gain imo

I agree with kirkq, this sounds a whole lot like a blog. While I don't think having something like that is bad, I don't think it fits as being part of the forum (code), imo.
Can't tell you when/if it'll happen, but it would definitely be low priority with a lot of things that need to happen that have higher priority.

Alright, It's been implemented.
I'm not 100% convinced it's an improvement over the old way in practice, but since a lot of people wanted it, I'd like to give it a shot and see what people think of it when actually implemented.

Agreed.
It's been changed now: adding resources to games is no longer limited to mods. Instead, game resources can now be submitted by all users that have a verified run in that game.
Hopefully this strikes a good balance between accessibility and quality control.

Any chance that on the user runs page, in the case of a co-op game, that it would only show your fastest co-op time instead of every different combination of players you've done runs with?

Kinda annoying to look at and would be much cleaner just showing the fastest co-op time

We can follow games and that's a very cool thing... I don't know if somebody else said it but it would be very nice to be able to follow runners too ! 🙂

Would be cool to be able to leave some sort of note/flag in the moderation queue so other mods don't touch something if it's being worked on by someone else. Like one mod suspects cheating/timing issue and is following up, don't want another just going ahead and verifying. Lots of other scenarios I've thought this would be useful too

An official feature for that would be nice- I've taken to editing the comment field with "mod note: contents of message" at the start. Actually had a back and forth with the runner that way once.
