the only reason new runs appears on the frontpage is to quickly see what new times people got, we don't need all those details, especially with that much space for a single run lot of people already complained about it when you did it to user profiles, but now it's even worse, it used to just be a line for a single run, but now a single run take 2/3 times more space so yeah, the whole point of quickly checking the new times is gone since you just see a few runs by default and have to scroll for way too much time to see the whole page, not even mentionning how horrendous it is to read with all the variables, and the actual time of the run being so small under the rank |

It's out of beta!! I predict that beta messages will be the next beta feature lol Originally posted by skunwe don't need all those detailsWhat new details? It's basically the same amount as before Although I do prefer the old design and that runs should take up less space Feedback I gave from the supporter forums when this was first added: Also @CamcorderCamcorder, or whoever might respond, is there a reason why the variables now look like sub-categories, why have they been not been moved back into brackets ()? If we have a reason for this then we might not be so critical |

Was it intentional by chance to also include runs from games you are not following, even if the other categories have enough runs to fit the settings setup on your profile? (No, I did not have games which I was not following in my Latest Runs page before the new design was pushed) |

Hi all, thanks for the feedback, especially to all the Supporters who helped test this while in beta. We deployed this a little earlier than expected due to performance issues (it uses the new backend which is much more efficient and we've seen a very significant increase in traffic in the last week), so some of the details were a little rough around the edges. I'm pushing a fix now that improves the UI based on feedback (longer usernames on desktop, variables in parentheses, slim things down on mobile), fixes the issue on series pages (my bad!), and tweaks the algorithm a bit (to show more runs from your games and less from random games, where possible). For clarity: runs from games you don't follow always had the possibility of showing - no fundamental change there. The new algorithm makes an effort to show as many recent runs from games you follow, then fills in a bit from other games if necessary. It may show more runs overall, which might be why you're noticing the change. Runs from games you follow should be at the top. We'll likely continue to tweak based on additional feedback, so don't be shy |

I'm not saying they're not supposed to show - I'm saying they're showing under conditions where they previously did not show for me |

Originally posted by {Camcorder}{The new algorithm makes an effort to show as many recent runs from games you follow, then fills in a bit from other games if necessary. It may show more runs overall, which might be why you're noticing the change.} In general, the algorithm (and to an extent the settings as well) basically make no practical sense. - Sometimes I'll get 4 runs across 2 games I don't follow, sometimes I'll get 3 runs across 2 games I don't follow, sometimes I'll get 2 runs across 2 games I don't follow, and sometimes I'll get 2 runs across a single game I don't follow... and so on (I've even had instances where it pulled two runs from a month ago) If you look at the settings on my profile (see: https://imgur.com/a/sILjXst ) it suggests that I should be seeing 40 runs in the latest runs page from my followed games which were done in the past 30 days. Yet, this isn't what's happening: |

The settings also don't work perfectly, like if I set Maximum number of followed runs to 0, or another low number, more than that show (lol) Originally posted by Camcorderlonger usernames on desktopCan this please also be for mobile? |

More feedback: Originally posted by JACK4Lalso the double nick display still isn't fixedWhat's that? Or do you mean the duplicate runs? |
|
@YUMmy_Bacon5YUMmy_Bacon5 No, it happens when you aim the cursor at the browser tab of someone's run, and if they have a gradient nick, it will display twice. This has been a thing since months, just like a broken flag of one of Germany's lands. |

@JACK4LJACK4L The page's title, yee, that needs to be fixed |
|
@CamcorderCamcorder not sure if you saw my feedback a while back, but my final thought on the mobile version of the home page was that game covers appeared to be too small, in which images that have text are difficult to read. Does this happen to be on the list, or is this just a sad consequence of smaller screen sizes? |

We just deployed some improvements (still rolling out to all users): - Algorithm further improved to better respect user preferences, remove duplicate runs, and a variety of other tweaks @VyPrVyPr, that’s a tough one. Making the images larger would consume more vertical space (reducing the number of runs visible at once and causing increased scrolling). Mind if I ask what phone you’re using? |

Lmao thanks Originally posted by YUMmy_Bacon5like if I set Maximum number of followed runs to 0, or another low number, more than that show (lol)The same still happens but with high numbers |

I have a Google Pixel 2 XL (Specs: 6 inch display, 1440x2880 (18:9 ratio)), for reference, this is what my home screen looks like: I also have a Kindle Fire HD 10 (11th Gen) (Specs: 10.1 inch display, 1920x1200 (16:10 ratio)), checked the homepage on this as well, looks much better: If a fix can't happen, no big deal, at least the cover is there to begin with. Just happy that updates are happening more frequently now Edit: Why are these embeds massive lol |

I think it looks fine, but for me it's showing only runs from games I follow. Some of which are almost a month old (https://www.speedrun.com/granny_3_pc/run/yopqrx1m this run is still showing for me). I think I'd prefer to see only the recent runs within a few days or a week, and then fill in the rest with random recent runs. Is that possible? |

Originally posted by CamcorderRuns from games you follow should be at the top.Has this been changed? My frontpage currently looks like this, and I only follow Deepest Sword & the 3 games at the bottom of the screenshot. Also, the "recent runs" tab on specific leaderboards seems to be functioning weirdly now. In Dungeon of Numenas 2, it only lists 3 runs, including my glideless run from the 12th (a misc. category), but it doesn't list my more recent any% pb or the more recent any% pb from @RedsMSRRedsMSR. I'm guessing there was a change to stop showing obsoleted runs in that tab (as there'd be a bunch of obsolete pbs from @jovinjovin ), and it's gone too far somehow? |
