Block clip not working

Hey guys, newbie here if you hadn't guessed ^^'. I'm currently trying to learn Any% no up+A and I came across a point that could be done faster with block clipping. Needless to say I tried learning it, I looked up some tutorials and they were all telling me that if Link is looking down after slashing your sword and tapping left/right, you got the trick. However, I've gotten Link to look down from slashing to the side consistently, yet when I start holding forward he almost never actually clips into the block. When it does work I feel like I did nothing different. Does anyone here know what might be going on?

Likely means you're on the wrong pixel or using the wrong inputs after getting the sword slash. When you press left/right, Link will face a different direction than he was facing when you started.

The distance needed from above: http://redcandle.us/wp-content/uploads/reverseclip.png

You can find more information and screenshots with distance here: http://redcandle.us/The_Legend_of_Zelda

^ Pay very close attention to the visual cues here http://redcandle.us/The_Legend_of_Zelda#Screen_Scroll When attempting to learn a clip, first walk at least 16 pixels away from the block you're trying to clip before trying to set up into the position shown in the diagram. 16 pixels is one of the squares on the floor. Start with the Bow room in Level-1. Get into the position in the diagram. Swing your sword. While Link is swinging, press left or right. You must not be pressing left or right by the end of the swing. If you don't get it, walk away at least 16 pixels and try again.

Focus on the inputs you need to do. Once you get the inputs down, try it from the top like Overswarm posted. Also, in the diagram it shows Link's hat lining up against the inner line of a block. You can also clip when there are 2 pixels between Link's hat and the inner line. This is the same as what OS's image is portraying in the so-called Reverse Clip.

I got it! Walking away at least 16 pixels did the trick ^^ apparently I kept trying to set it up too quickly, I didn't know I had to take 16 pixels of distance from it first. Thank you very much guys! :)
