I think some of you may heard of The Crew Unlimited project. If you don't know, it's basicly help you to run The Crew server on your machine so you can keep playing The Crew even though servers are closed.

I was wondering, if this project finishes (currently you can play on free roam but campaign is not finished. And I'm not developer in there so I don't have technical info), I wonder if that speedruns will be accepted in here?

According to them, it will be mostly same but with some minor "balancings" like:

but one massive change that I deliberately added is negative impact parts, just like the pre-smart loot original system. The more you level up your car, the higher the bar will be for the scores/medals you get on missions/skills for better parts, ie if you have a level 1000+ car and get a weak bronze medal, you are very unlikely to level up. But again, still WIP.

We will see when it released for sure but I was wondering what's speedrun com mods thinking right now and if they are following this project. It's looks promising.

I guess they will be accepted since you play with maxed out cars in every category anyway and that change to me sounds just that its more annoying to max out cars but doesn't nerf or buff their performance when they are lvl 1497 unless I'm miss reading something or understanding it wrong :D

In terms of physics the game should be absolutely carbon copy to the original, the map should also be carbon copy, they are not touching the game itself. Tweaks like rerolling smart loot is just changing how drops are calculated.

Anyway that we get to play the exact same game is great news when it comes to speedruns ! Maybe loading times can be a bit faster or slower we have no idea how it will be like. Maybe adjustments will be needed, maybe not.

I keep following the project and I will surely come back to you all when speedrunning most categories here become a thing again on The Crew :D
