Making the leaderboards

We also have added a No skips / skips subcategory distinction for both single segment as well as individual level runs. This is to cover the possibilities of players using strats (glitches?) that very clearly skip parts of levels such as those in Sky Road or any possible future discoveries

How are you all adding up the race times correctly? I noticed the miliseconds are up to 100 but the minutes and seconds is normal, so it's not adding up correctly in excel.

Hesse, Germany

im not sure if i understand your problem but if youre working with 2 decimal digits make sure to type them in correctly. For example if the race time says .25 and you use a calculator that expects 3 digits, type it in as .250 cause otherwise it might misread it as .025

for time calculation I personally use this calculator: http://www.unitarium.com/time-calculator it sometimes has weird behavior with how it displays decimals (for example displaying .1 as .099999999999) but you can just round that and this calculator has been proven to be reliable over the years

That online calc seems to work a lot better then the spreadsheet did, thanks! excel did not seem to like the 100ths on the end of seconds and it was adding up poorly for me.

Italy

Diablohead, for the sake of convenience, I'm going to manually add the race times in the description of your run. Is that ok for you?

England

Go for it, tsr is the first speedrun I have submitted with added up times instead of just real time so if I forget something i'm sorry about that.

edit glad you noticed my mistake on one track, I accidently used first place and not my second place time. oops.

Hey just as a minor gripe idk if you can change the layout at all, but the individual levels page only lists no skip times by default

Hesse, Germany

this was a deliberate choice when I originally set up the leaderboards, though I'm open to changing this if most people disagree with me there. Right now the glitchless / glitched distinction is set up as a different subcategory rather than a different category. The reason I did that is because currently there are very few tracks that have skips at all, and I just think it looks really bad if theres tons of main categories that have no entries. Like this it still looks like there are entries for every IL, and not like almost half the boards are empty

Not sure if this has been discussed already. But how about co-op runs? I'm not actually sure how local multiplayer exactly works but you can do all the non-story mode categories with a 2nd or 3rd person right? If so that would be fun and probably make the team mechanic more interesting in a speedrun.

On the topic of Team Adventure 100% if including Expert completion for paint kits, that would require 38 additional races. 6 of which are Grand Prix. oof Getting all stars and keys I'd guesstimate taking 4 1/2 - 5 hours (I havent tried yet) so that's kinda rough as it is (Edit: first unplanned run took 7 1/2 hours yyyikes. I'd say like 5 hours)

For coop runs, I believe the first step is to wait for someone to actually do it, and then see if anyone else wants to.

The rules for the Races and Grand Prix categories state to Beat all Races or Grand Prix. There is no progression tied to these events so it does not make sense to require a first place finish in each event. If first place is not a requirement, then a different word or phrase should be used. Beat would imply a first place finish. Considering a worse result, such as last place, as beating a race or grand prix is not typical. A DNF should still be prohibited.

New Jersey, USA

first place is not a requirement, no. I guess it could be reworded as "complete" or "finish" rather than "beat" but I assume most people are interpreting it as complete/finish.

If you want examples there's already a couple runs up and verified that don't get 1st place (as a team usually) in every instance

changed that

I think an interesting category would be all time trial platinums since you can get most/all without a pre-lap, like a quick less than 30 minute run

this is my contribution to the forums today

To be honest, a category like that wouldn't be very interesting imo. And I personally fail to see the rationale behind a 1-lap run in every track, outside the standard time trial mode.

I like it. It's basically a No-AI all-races 1lap, and it requires different routing from time attack (because we would probably have to start every race with an item boost)

it shouldn't "require" plat, just playing should be enough.

I'm considering running this game, could the All Team Races, All Team Grand Prix, and Team Adventure Any% categories have their player counts updated to 3 players? With how the game encourages teamwork, I feel like it would make sense to allow you to do the run as a team.

If so, make sure to write in that the players need to be on a team together and that it uses the slowest player's IGT for each race.

All depends on how many people are willing to do a co-op speedrun.

Hesse, Germany

i have never worked with co-op runs as a moderator before so i'm not sure how youd set it up on leaderboards the best. I think it would have to be separate categories

New Bonus Box Category

Hello Everyone.

Recently we have had to reject quite a number of individual levels that make use of the bonus box glitch which is not allowed currently. We have decided there have been enough submissions to warrant its own category. It will just like glitched, but now it also allows the use of bo
