Hey, I'm probably going to time the dialogues in the near future and figure out which are the fastest. If anyone knows some (or all) of them already, it'd be nice to know. Otherwise, I'll update this thread as I find them.
Edit:
Most of the dialogue choices don't actually make any difference. Here are the few exceptions I found. If anyone finds out I missed something, let me know.
Chapter 7: The second dialogue option you get choose is faster if you pick 1 or 2 rather than 3
Chapter 13: It is possible to choose the wrong dialogue option, but all the right ones are just as fast. Pressing 2 works for all of the choices in this chapter.
Chapter 14: Once you reach the puzzle door, the right options are 1-2-1-3
As far as I know, the rest of the dialogues are entirely up to you.
If you'd like to know, turning off narration at the beginning of the run and until the end of whisper is faster than leaving it on, because if you have narration off, you only have to go into the beam once to start floating, and you can finish the labyrinth faster by a fraction of a second without being teleported.
Yeah i just noticed that. Also, turn it off for Puzzle and then back on for Stairs. In puzzle, instead of pressing enter to remove the walls and then have a bunch of talking, it waits a few seconds then goes straight for the next level and you need it on for stairs otherwise you can't press enter to go faster
EDIT: I also found a way to skip a part of Down. If you're interested i can record it and post it here. It saves about 30 seconds if done on the first try (which is not easy, mind you)
I'M INTERESTED!!! You don't have to tho. Is it really really difficult?
Well it involves a very fast and accurate bhopping so it's not that hard to get but getting it on the first try in a run will definitely be pretty rare, I'll give it a recording so I can show you.
That skip is something that I've already found, and I've already posted a video of it.
Well thanks for saving me the trouble. Did you find a setup or something to do it consistently? Cause I haven't
I've found something that works most of the time if you get all first frame bhops, and I'll upload a video after I verify some runs :). Also, what's with the no sound in your run? It's boring to listen to nothing :(
Also, if you didn't know, you can wall strafe in this game, and it's faster than bhopping in many places, such as the final hallway to the beam in epilogue and the big hallway in theater. (However, I think Theater is on a time limit, not until you get to a certain point, so dialogue being disabled might affect that, if you want to check.
OH, and about the no sound, I'm just stupid... My headphones weren't even plugged in!
