im trying to get a not bad run and there are parts that i do not understand at all

first in the karaoke bar how do you prevent the map from showing before you beat the guy up, i dont know if im accidentally pressing a button or i'm too slow or what

also in the g l i t c h zone how do you get rid of the invisible walls they screw up my runs

You prevent the map from showing by pressing Select immediately after defeating the guy.
