Hey guys ive just noticed in my spare time that the load remover also removes all menuing in GC. this means that picking bonuses, moving ships and ai manipulation now counts as load time (according to my remover). I just want thoughts on this because i see the ai manipulation as a turn off for other runners and a tedious thing altogether however, it is key to the speedrun side of the game mode.

Personally i think its great because it means i can sit there for ages manipulating ai untill my game crashes but i can also see that its kind of unfair? in a way? This would most likely make the category more competitive though as most of it would be based on levels instead of ai rng on the map.

slightly less rng = more competition :D

I just wanna know if we should keep this as a good thing or just resign ourselves to manually removing loads for Galactic conquest runs

The load time removal ruleset was made so that we could determine which run was the fastest based on gameplay alone since loading times varies from PC to PC for example.

If the game is not loading, it needs to counts as gameplay time. That is just how it is. RNG is a part of almost every speed runs. Descision making of whether or not use a Jedi bonus or just skip it and start the next fight as soon as possible is important too. We should not take advantage of how our time remover currently works as an excuse to try removing RNG from the run.

The load remover will not well for Galactic Conquest for now, but if implemented correctly it could very useful in the future. :)

I guess this means you gotta change the rules and say that the current load remover is banned and loads need to be removed manually for gc runs
