Can I still submit my PB from before the update? Also, when will the new leaderboard be created?
I still think the moderators should carefully reconsider.
@VentureMatic You're implying that better times aren't possible and therefore a leaderboard reset is necessary. This makes sense. However, better times are definitely still possible. Take for example a run I did a few weeks back. I got a 12:02 lever pull, which is faster than WR, on a run that didn't get a crucifix at all. That run proves faster times are still achievable, even if you cannot buy the crucifix on most runs. If you still want a fresh leaderboard then just make the current one a secondary category and create a new one to replace it, as was done with Hotel+.
Let's not wipe the leaderboard. It's completely extreme and unnecessary. This update doesn't mean our times will get slower. It will just take a bit longer to get them. As I pointed out previously, this sets a bad precedent. Instead of starting over whenever a minor update to the game is made, we should adapt to the new dynamics. I think this deserves further discussion in the community.
Wiping the leaderboard would be a mistake. It'd be unfair to everyone who has worked hard to get to the top. It also sets a bad precedent that at any time an update to the game comes out, the leaderboard could get completely wiped. It's inevitable that the world record will be beaten anyway, and when it does, it would be strange if the old records had been removed.
I'm having an issue with the OOB Vanny Ending route, at one part of the run you're supposed to fall through the floor and land in a corridor. When I attempt this I just fall forever, I've tried it dozens of times and I cannot get it to work, is there something I'm missing? Maybe it's hardware dependent?
I can't do the any% route because my pc loads the roxy raceway area far too quickly. I try to run exactly like I've seen others do it and I have many times but it just doesn't seem to work for me. I tried using a worse hard drive which helped but it was still too fast, is there any way to slow down the game even more?
If you speedrun a reskinned version of the game, like super mario flash land or super mario bros flash, does it count as a super mario flash speedrun? Those "games" are just reskinned versions of super mario flash. There's no difference gameplay wise (i think). I just thought that would be kind of cool.
Can you make speedruns made in reskins of the game? Like Super Mario Flash Land? Or nah?
