The same thing happened to me when I used Duckstation and activated the autosplitter option in split editing. I solved it by disabling the autosplitter option of the split edition (because that option automatically downloads emu-help-v2 and ASL files that do not work at all with the emulator) and directly copying the files that are downloaded from the "Resources" in the "Components" directory of LiveSplit and with that, problem solved for me.
