This is one of my first runs of this game. I decided to start timing on selecting Normal (which is when the text cutscene starts), and to end timing on starting the ending text cutscene (after skipping the cutscene after the final boss with Spyro, Cynder and Sparx), as the ending text cutscene doesn't seem to have the insta-skip option and it has some extra screens the first time you beat the game (informing you of the hard mode and boss mode being unlocked). I guess it's somewhat consistent with ANB while maintaining a bit of common sense if you ask me.

Anyway, I used a trick in this run where bringing up the "return to menu?" prompt during the level unlock animation on the map skips said animation. There was also an unnecessary death in Celestial Caves, and I got hit by nothing in Elementary Vault 4 (haven't seen that before).

The reason I ran on emulator this time is because while a decent amount of versions of this game are dumped, it appears that none of those have volume correction for Nokia phones that have loud audio in J2ME games (which includes the N82 that I have). This is in contrast to A New Beginning, which did have some. Since I'm not running with the speaker but with the TV-out, and I can just lower the volume on my output, this is not entirely an issue, but still, I wouldn't like to use the entirely "wrong" version (except for when I run low-end/mid-tier versions).
