This is a demonstration of how to complete the mission "Through the Ermine" from Myth II: Soulblighter in 29 seconds in-game time.
Strategy:
- Select Berserk, wait until 14 in-game seconds and order him to run to the altar.
- Move camera to selected unit, send rest of your units in to draw aggro.
- As the Berserk enters the stone circle, spam Taunt.
I saw that BIG KROK V8 SS of the Myrgard forums had completed this mission in 29 seconds, which at first seemed impossible, but after viewing the screenshot I could see that some sort of bug was used. It appears the map's script checks for taunting units near the altar to initiate the waves. However, if you get one of your units to taunt near it, it'll end the map. I suppose they forgot to disable the script after the waves are started, or to check which faction the taunting unit belongs to.
Anyway, even with this bug in mind it's not enough to complete it in 29 seconds, since you can't control your units immidietly, and even when you get control, the camera has to pan back to your units.
The solution is to select the nearest Berserk before the camera pans over to the altar, and then immidietly when you gain control order him to run to the nearest point within the stone circle. You gain control of your units at 14 seconds. You can then press H to pan the camera to your units instead of having it slowly move over. I send the rest of my units in hopes to draw aggro so the enemy units wont block my first Berserk.
It'll still take some attempts to get it down to 29 seconds. Sometimes a unit will block you, sometimes a wolf will interrupt your taunting, sometimes you'll end up taunting just outside the stone circle. I've had better luck by spamming the taunt key.
