This run uses a new starting save where Max is no longer in the wounded state and has the Lead Pipe and the Beretta in his inventory. The fact that Max is no longer in the wounded state means that Max's speed does not decrease between normal rolls, which makes this level faster.

In addition to that, shift rolling is used in multiple places to speed up certain sections. I used one shift roll to fall cancel after going up the first set of stairs in the level, and two shift rolls are used to do two fall cancels in the section with the blood trails. Shift rolling is used plenty in the last part of the blood trail maze, as it is faster than walking, and the routing does not work with normal rolls.

I said previously that it is faster to do two jumps to get up the second set of stairs. This is wrong. It's faster to just roll up the second set of stairs, which is what I did in this run as well.

I went for the comic strip menu skip in this run, but I missed it, which lost at most 0.35 seconds. This can go sub 1m46s if you hit the comic strip menu skip and have better movement in parts.
