put up this video of me skipping the furniture tower via launching up from the cardboard boxes and up through the little hole before the orange. it seems like a viable strategy, even if it's pretty hard to do.

edit: seems like you can launch yourself right up the hole from the lamp, instead of trying to fit the hammer in there like i did in the video. in addition to that, you can get your hammer directly on top of the roof after launching up from the boxes for another timesave, but i can't get it consistently at all...

I've thought about this in the past but didn't think you could grab the box through the beam, very nice :o

---If you grab the box that's higher up you can launch straight to the roof much easier. ---This is faster only if you already have the hammer resting on the top box. ---Landing on the table makes launching to the lamp easier. ---Trying to launch straight through the hole is a bit hard but defiantly worth practicing.

This has been a known technique for a while now (Check Guides for the video). I believe Lumonen found it first, but decided not to use it because it barely saves time (if at all) compared to doing furniture land well, because if you do the slide skip you need to make your way across the box island and go up before you even get to the skip.

In the end it's down to personal preference though. I personally don't do it because it's fairly tricky and I never practised it.

@Lorn: very good ideas. they should make this quite a bit easier to do.

@Apok: fair, i haven't watched those videos yet. i'm fairly sure it should save some time if done optimally, though, so i'll mess with it some more. it's probably not worth doing unless you have a sub 3:30 time already, but it's a pretty fun strat, i think.
